Mari used to be an ordinary village woman who worked on the fields with her family, But one day they were attacked by a demon everyone died except her. She lived her life in the shadows trying not to get cremated by the sun's harmful rays. And her life not be laid down by some demon slayer.
She met this guy. He was also a demon such as herself he taught her how to survive and defended herself properly.
But he always ended up saving her whenever she was in trouble, she also heard his tragic backstory which she felt sad for him, And wish she could change the past.
She became the guy, sidekick, take Batman and Robin for example.
After they spent five decades together they became a couple after she confessed her love to him.
