Ok so this is a poem I wrote for my parents a few months ago but lol I don't plan on showing it to them.
Here it is:
I'm Here For You
You say I became ruder
Well let me tell you what
Life happens,
People change,
I told you I'm not the same.
You say I don't open up,
I'm ready to do it
Who told you so?
But d'you know your
reaction when I tell
you my feelings and more?
"Crying won't help you
Neither will those seven boys"
Well if you know me so much
Why didn't you answer my silent crys?
"Stop sobbing, get over it"
When you put yourself
in my shoes,
It didn't hurt,
Or did it?
I know, I know, I know,
I messed up
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry,
I messed up.
You said "I love you"
I say "I love you too"
All this time I've been saying it,
Now is when it's not true.
We don't have that bond anymore,
But that's neither of ours' fault,
We grew apart and it was gradual,
But still hit hard as a jolt.
I hated myself for
Not being perfect for you,
I buried my feelings away,
Just not to worry you.
It worked but it hurt,
And/but I still did it,
Not realising the storm,
That was created in me,
Because of it.
Then someone suddenly came up
And gave me a proper explanation,
Even if u are not perfect, you are limited edition.
All these scars from your mistakes
Make up your constellation,
It's just that loving yourself,
It doesn't require anyone else's permission.
Blaming yourself won't do any good,
So stop starving
and go have some food,
They are distant
but they still love you,
And if u ever feel alone,
I'm here for you.
