The training for the opening round was in full swing. Algería trained even more than everyone else. She trained with Valt and Honcho and on the other side with Free. Breaks were overrated for her. The thing was this: She had the normal training sessions, like everyone else, and they were several hours a day. While the rest were taking breaks, she was in the woods training with Free.

"Meditation? What's the point of that?" Free had noticed that the girl was pushing herself far beyond her limits, so he tried to convince her to take it easy. "It strengthens your mind and your ability to concentrate." Free pointed to the ground next to him. Algería did as she was told and sat cross-legged next to him. The blond closed his eyes and breathed in and out calmly. Algería didn't really know what to do. She preferred exercises that required effort. Still, it was worth a try. She closed her eyes and... yes, she didn't know that herself. "Clear your mind and relax" Clear your mind and relax? How was she supposed to do this when she had to train for an important tournament? The whole thing was driving her crazy. Her mind was on so many things and the pressure was too high to relax. "It's all useless!" Algería had opened her eyes and stood up. Free said nothing, didn't even look at her. "Do what you want. I train properly" She went back to the arena and took Fuerza and her launcher. She didn't have time to rest. There was so much at stake, she couldn't afford it. She had to get better. The girl twisted her bey on the launcher and got into position. "Let it rip" Fuerza landed in the arena and did a few laps before coming to a complete stop. Algería took her out of the arena and repeated it. "Let it rip"

Time passed and Algería was still squatting next to the arena. Dinner was long over and she hadn't seen anything from Free for a long time. But she didn't have time to look for him. "Let it rip" Her start was sloppy, which is no wonder after over a thousand attempts. "That was nothing..." She grabbed Fuerza and twisted her back onto its launcher. "One more time...Let it rip..." Fuerza had lost momentum and Algería had lost strength and energy. She fell backwards and closed her eyes. "Have you finally exhausted yourself now?" She looked up and saw Free. "I'm not done yet..." The redhead sat up. Free sighed and put a basket on the floor. "Ange packed food and drink for you. She wants you to eat it all up." Algería looked at the basket, opened it and pulled out a box of food. Her stomach was growling, so she immediately started eating. Free draped a blanket over her shoulders and sat on the floor next to her. "You should leave it with the training for today and rest" "But I can't! I want to give everything the day after tomorrow and bring the team points...We're all a team and it's no use if only one person is the team through the European Championship" Algería took a few sips before putting the boxes back in the basket and getting back to training. She wanted to get Fuerza out of the arena, but there was no trace of the red Bey. "Where's Fuerza?" Free held the red bey in his hand. "Give her back" "You'll get her back tomorrow" "But I want to train now" Algería wanted her bey back, but Free closed his hand around Fuerza. "If you manage to open my hand, then you can continue" "No more? Well then." He held out his hand and Algería somehow tried to open his hand, but without success. She was far too tired and everything hurted her. She didn't have any strength left either, so she left it at last and sat down next to the blonde again. "I'm already resting..." Algería yawned and stretched. It was about time to go back and sleep but the girl was just too tired.

It was quiet around the two. Here and there an owl could be heard and crickets chirped. The moon began to illuminate the area and small stars shimmered in the sky. "It's weird" "Hm?" "I mean this between us." Free looked at the redhead. Has she always been this close? "I can't follow you..." "I didn't like you at first. You always taunted me and Lui" "It's complicated between Lui and me" Algería sighed. "I know...Lui doesn't make it easy for you" Algería looked up at the sky. "But I'm not like him." Free turned his head away from her. "I know" Algería rested her head on Free's shoulder. "I like you Free, I really do" Free just looked straight for a while, until he looked down at Algería, who had fallen asleep. "I like you too" Free laid his head on Algería's and then fell asleep as well.
