"Error! I promise!" You shouted down to the skeleton, before you were harshly thrown into the rift. Your back slid on the white floor of the Anti-Void, before you pushed yourself up onto your elbows and looked at Error through the rift. He simply gave you a harsh glare before turning the other direction. You reached a hand out to the rift before it closed. "Error wait-!" He had already closed the rift.

You slightly whimpered to yourself as you looked around the Anti-Void. This was often your punishment Error would give you if you had 'stepped out of line' with him. He would open a rift to a deep part of the Anti-Void and leave you there, far, far away from him. He knew it drove you insane not being in his presence, he knew that since the day he met you! You were weak in that way, and you always hated to admit it but it was true.

You stood up and started to walk, before running around the Anti-Void, the white walls never changing. You shouted Error's name, begging him for forgiveness for whatever you did to piss him off. You sort of knew what you did, but it was still blurry. You had told Error about your encounter with Cross, how he turned your soul blue and that's how the thread was broken. He didn't buy it, of course, but let you continue and say your story.

He eventually deemed your story as untruest worthy in his eyes and told you you were to be punished immediately for ever disobeying his orders for trying to leave him. You tried to tell him countless times as you struggled away from his threads that you'd never run away from him, that he was your savior. In a sense, he was, but that was what he had taught you to think. You were now blinded by the fact that he was your savior, your knight in shinning armor. He had you in the palm of his own hands. If you thought this way, you would always run back to him, and that's exactly what you were doing.

Eventually, you somehow found yourself crying before falling to your knees, fists sweeping away your falling tears. The Anti-Void's noise was a soft hum, almost like air conditioning in an office building, but it was now filled with your weak and pathetic sobs for Errors forgiveness. Your tears eventually hit the white floors, accompanying the small sounds as you tried to force yourself to shut up and suck it up. Yet, you couldn't. Not this time.

You were scared out of your mind. With the encounter with Ink, you were scared he was going to somehow find his way to you and kidnap you, take you away from Error. That was the last thing you wanted, Ink seemed terrifying. He looked so full of emotion, yet so empty, like he didn't know what the emotions inside him even meant, like they were just there for display and nothing else. You saw how he always drifted from Error to you in conversations, and dear god did it scare you so much, it scared you more than hanging out with Fresh for the first time.

Speaking of, you now drifted your cries from Error to Fresh, as you knew he could hear you if you called his name loud enough. Except, his name didn't even sound like his own name, it sounded like a whale. I mean, you were wailing, so it did make sense, but it was pathetic to even think about so you tried not to think much of it. You kept crying out for Fresh, hoping he was close enough in the In-between to hear you, yet the louder you shouted, the more deaf it fell onto the walls.

You don't know how long you sat there, screaming for Error in Fresh in their own segments, but it was long enough to catch the attention of two brothers. One of the two deemed this as a worthless time, and ignored your negative feelings for the time being, maybe if they grew he'd check up on you. But, for one, this was the most painful sight for him to witness. A small, seemingly fragile, girl screaming and crying for someone that didn't even care about her! He teleported himself there in a blink, wanting to get rid of your sadness. When he did, he was met with what you could say was a disgusting sight, yet to him, was something normal and beautiful.

You were now in a child's pose, hunched over and back arched as you held your stomach as you often choked on your sobs, desperately screaming for Error. Your voice had died, yet you still shouted a name that fell deaf to anyone's ear. But not his.

Carefully, he walked forward, wondering if you noticed the sounds of his boots on the floor. When he noticed you couldn't hear anything over your own sobs, he quickly ran to your side, sitting on his knees and letting his arms hover over you. You, however, now sensing arms coming in close contact with you, screamed and pushed yourself away from the figure. Your eyes widen just enough to see who it was, and upon seeing someone who wasn't Error nor Fresh, screamed and wailed louder.

"No, no! Stay... Stay away from m-me!" You shouted, covering you face with your hands, kicking your feet in a desperate way to move backwards or kick the skeleton in front of you. The skeleton grew in worry as he tried to desperately push himself to you, only to have you scream in his face once more. "Go away! P-Please! Don't hurt me! I didn't m-mean too!" You kept shouting as eventually the fatigue of crying from earlier came to you in a heavy wave. You swore to yourself as you tried to stand up, only to flop back to the floor in a wave of weak sobs.

The skeleton, now desperate to rid of your negative feelings, decided to take a different approach to you. You obviously weren't very trusting to him, so he wasn't going to dare get close to you, or try to touch you in anyway until he confirms you are indeed comfortable with it. Instead, he sighed, trying to hold a steady smile as he sat perfectly still and let you slowly wear yourself down.

You eventually took notice of the skeletons lack of interest in wanting to get close to you, and slowly calmed your cries and breaths. You still whimpered under your breath, sure, but you were now in a more steady state as you pushed yourself up to your knees, wiping your eyes in a desperate way to get rid of the troublesome tears that were ever endlessly falling from you. When you did, you noticed the skeleton was giving you the most kindest, gentlest smile you have ever witnessed, you almost stopped breathing when you saw it.

His smile, it's smile (?), was glowing from where it sat on the skeletons face, it should be illegal how comforting the smile was. It felt so warm to you, despite it not even being your own smile, and it enveloped you in a sense of security as you sat there staring at it. The skeletons eyes were even golden with warmth, though they obviously held something behind them, everyone's eyes did. The comfort from them, though, was so intense that you almost toppled over on yourself and into a dream like state. You pushed yourself away from that though, you wanted answers.

"W-Who are you?" You curiously asked, voice still hoarse from screaming and shouting names that were irrelevant as of now. The skeletons smile brightened even more as he adjusted the cape around his neck, the pink center that held it together shifting with his shoulders. His outfit was a contrast of light blues, golds, whites and occasional pinks, you had took notice as he clasped his finger less gloved hands together, intertwining his own fingers.

"My name is Dream, I am the guardian of all Hopes and Dreams. I have come here from hearing you distressed calls from deep in the Multiverse. I wish to befriend you in a joyful and enjoying way, miss...?" He dragged his sentence on, pushing his head towards you and slightly tilting it as he drug his clasped hands closer to his chest. You eyed Dream up and down, curious about him and where he came from. He spoke like a hero, he spoke like how Ink would speak to you or Error, and he mentioned the Multiverse so casually! He had to have something to do with Ink, surely!

But, the way he looked at you, the way he smiled, it felt so welcoming, so surreal to you. It was a sense of safety, you knew, but you couldn't pin point on why. Why did this strange skeleton make you feel safe and homey, something that only Error or Fresh were capable of until now? You sighed to yourself, looking down at the floor. Suppose, there was only one way to figure out.

"Y/n."
