Skylar's pov

Uhg this headache is killing me. I can't have this today.

Waking up to my 9 o'clock alarm I can already say this morning is not going as planned. I want to visit Jasmine this afternoon, but if I can't get this stupid headache under controle I don't think I can.

I really need to see her today. Maybe if I eat and drink something it will feel bearable.

I get up and walk out of my bedroom, through the dining room into the lounge of my suit without changing out of the oversized shirt I slept in. I have been living in this hotel for the last 2 weeks. Thinking it would be easy to get a temporary apartment in New York turned out to be a miscalculation. Everything was either too overpriced or too small or just not up to my standards...

Oh well, staying in this hotel is not so bad. At least I am close to the hospital my soulmate is in.

Her suite:

Oh right, I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Skylar Leon, I am 29 years old, born in Canada, raised in America, and now living in London and I have eight soulmates. Yes, soulmates are very much a thing in this world. Though it is not common to have more than one soulmate, let alone 8. But that never held me back in the slightest.

Even though society saw me as a whore, I definitely wasn't one. Everybody always told me to just be pretty and let my soulmates take care of me...

Yeah right, that's not happening.

I made something of myself. I was smart enough seeing as I have 2 master's degrees (one in medical science and one in soul science) and 3 PhDs (soul-sickness, soul-technology and soulmarks). As I said, I'm smart.
