Chapter Seven: Music is my Life. The lyrics are my story.

The Perth music hall was a lot bigger then Maxine would have expected. She got lost three times just trying to return her paper work to the front desk. She was on her way back when the announcement echoed over the overhead speakers.

"Would number 11234, 11235 and 11236 please make their way up to stage. Be ready to perform in five minutes." Jesse, Noah and Oliver. Maxine began to walk faster until she was running, her feet slapping loudly as she ran down the empty corridor. She skidded into the arena just in time to see the three boys climbing the steps to the stage. Jesse was just about to sit down on one of the stools when he saw Maxine standing uncertainly at the side of the stage. He jerked his head up to where they had been sitting and Maxine nodded. She turned around and took the stairs two at a time, sliding into her seat just as the lady in blue nodded at the boys, giving them the good to go.

"Hello boys. And welcome to the X Factor auditions!" Jesse and Oliver in indeed their heads while Noah answered.
"Thank you very much ma'am, it's an honer to be here." The lady laughed, a high sweet laugh that reminded Maxine painfully of her mother.
"Now, I'm Amber and I will be assessing your performance today to see if you have what it takes to get into the live auditions. What do you call youreselfs?" Here, Jesse leaned forwards, clearly the one who was the leader.
"We call ourselves Heartbeat ma'am." The woman nodded, and scribbled something down on a clip board.
"And you're names?"
"I'm Jesse Cole and they are Noah and Oliver James." Amber nodded.
"What are you're ages?"
"Oliver and I are 17 and Noah is 16." Jesse answered. Amber bent her head over her clip board again. She set the clip board down on the table in front of her.
"Whenever you're ready boys." Oliver bowed his head.
"Thank you. We will be singing let her go by Passenger. " Jesse looked over his shoulder at Oliver who softly began to strum on his guitar. It was then that Maxine noticed that Noah and Oliver were sitting a little further back, clearly giving Jesse the spot light. She would have thought more about it if Jesse hadn't started singing. His voice jolted her out of her daydream and she sat up suddenly, her eyes tuned in on the stage. His voice sent shivers down her back and when Oliver and Noah joined in in perfect harmony, Maxine could have sworn she had never heard anything so beautiful.

Well you only need the light when it's burning low. Only miss the sun when it starts to snow. Only know you love her when you let her go. Only know you've been high when you're feeling low. Only hate the road when you're missing home. Only know you love her when you let her to. And you let her go.
Staring at the bottom of your glass, hopeing one day you'll make a dream last. But dreams come slow and they go so fast. You see her when you close your eyes, maybe one day you'll understand why, everything you touch surely dies.
Here, Noah and Oliver joined in.
Cause you only need the light when it's burning low. Only miss the sun when it starts to snow. Only know you're lover when you let her go. Only know you've been high when you're feeling low. Only hate the road when you're missing home. Only know you love her when you let her go.
Jesse began to sing on his own again. His voice had Amber on her feet, swaying softly to the music. Maxine was leaning back against her seat, just listing.
Staring at the ceiling in the dark, same old empty feeling in your heart. Cause love comes slow and it goes so fast. Well you see her when you fall alseep! Hut never to touch her never to keep, cause you loved her too much and you dived too deep.
Noah and Oliver joined in again, all three boys rising from their stools and moving to the front of the stage, standing in a line, shadows dancing across their faces.
Well you only need the light when it's burning low. Only miss the sun when it starts to snow. Only know you love her when you let her go. Only know you've been high when you're feeling low! Only hate the road when you're missing home! Only know you love her when you let her go! And you let her go oo ooo oo. And you let her go o ooo ooo.
Jesse took over the lead again, Oliver and Noah using their voices as back up.
And you let her go o ooo ooo ooo o oo!
Cause you only need the light sang Jesse
When it's buring low! They sang together
Only miss the sun Jesse sang
When it starts to snow! They sang together
Only know you Jesse sang alone
Love her when you let her go! They sang together
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low! Jesse sang
Only hate he road when you're missing home! They sang all together
Only know you love her when you let her go! They sang together
Cause you only need the light when it's burning low. Jesse sang
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow. Only know you love her when you let her go. Only know you've been high when you're feeling low. Only hate the road when you're missing home. Only know you love her when you let her go. And you let her go."
