Mason pov

Its been 2 weeks since Lydia came out of hospital. 1 week until my birthday. She has been her usual cheerful self with a few mishaps but overall, i think things are gonna be OK. We've been writing everything down on paper but also learning sign language. Although we aren't very good just yet and tend to remember the swear words better than anything else. The family were very careful around Lydia, not wanting to startle her but they soon realised she isn't any more delicate than she was before

Lydia was stood in the garden with one of the horses. She was smiling brightly, almost as if our lives weren't full of death, abandonment and pain. Anyone from the outside world would think our lives are all sunshine and rainbows. We have a big house, fields for miles, best clothes, big family, money, and love. But very few people realise that it hasn't always been this way

I watched from the window as she spoke softly to the creature, stroking its nose and smiling

"Fuck" I heard yelled throught the house. It was Arthur. I went into his office assuming to find him in distress or worried about something. He worried alot and I hated to see him like that. So I tried my best to make it right. Except this time it was a little different. When I walk towards the door, I could hear heavy panting

"Oh yes" a womans voice rang making me grimace and almost choke on my own vomit.

"Right there" she yelled again. At this point I was about to walk away and die in a hole but I heard my name

"Mason. Whatcha doing?" It was lyd. She had crept up behind me making me jump a mile. I grabbed the note pad which I always kept in my pocket now and wrote

'Nothing. Let's go back outside' I pulled her by the arm but she held back

"No I wanna know what you were doing. Is daddy in there? I want to show him a trick we learnt as kids in texas. I have trained one of the horses to do it and it's still just as amazing as it was before" she said bouncing happily. We would ride horses all the time in texas, so we picked up many tricks

'He's very busy darling. Why don't you show me?' I was laughing nervously, wanting to pull her away from the office door

"But you've seen it millions of times. I wanna show daddy" she whined. Before I could stop her she opened the office door and stood still. Dad had a woman bent over his desk

"Ew" she said simply walking out and closing the door

"Why didn't you stop me" she said whacking me after every word. I was too busy laughing at her reaction to so write anything down. She stormed outside and went over to the horse as I followed her

'In dad's defence, she was hot' I wrote down. She snatched the note pad and read it before hitting me with it

"He's a grown man. I don't care what he gets up to in his free time but he could've locked the door atleast" she said leaning against the horse in defeat

'Oh please! If you were a dude, you'd fuck her' she gasped as she read it

"Watch your language Mason"

'Am i right?' I asked smirking. She thought for a moment before shrugging in agreement making me feel triumphant

"But that doesn't matter because like i said, I'm not bothered about that. I care more about him locking the door" she said stroking the horse

'Why don't ya show me the trick darling?' I asked, trying to distract her. She walked the horse out of the field and I followed. She let go of its reins and slapped its back side, making it run into the woods where we could no longer see it

"Oh god I love this trick" I muttered preparing myself. Lyd stood on a large bolder like rock and whistled. Moments later, the horse came charging full pace. I watched in awe as she timed it so perfectly. When the horse was close, she jumped off the rock and landed on the moving horses back smiling joyfully. She pulled the animal to a stop next to me and jumped down

I picked her up and spun her around giving her kisses as she squealed

"That was amazing" I said to her. She tilted her to head in confusion and then I realised my mistake. I got out the note pad and wrote down what I had just said making her roll her eyes but laugh with me

"I know I know. I'm pretty cool" she said cockily. I ruffled her hair and we went back to the house, where dad was sat on the sofa

"Hi daddy" she said running over and kissing his cheek. He got his note pad and wrote

'Hi baby girl. Listen, I just want you to know that I'm sorry for what you saw. It was wrong of me and I shouldn't have done it with you 2 in the house' she read it and laughed

"I don't care. Just lock the door next time" she suggested walking into the kitchen for a drink. He looked relieved and sat back with a sigh on the sofa

"Be thankful she wasn't traumatised" I said looking at him

"Ye ye. I know" he huffed

"But to be fair, well done. She was hot" I said clapping him round the back smiling making him laugh

"She certainly was. God did you see her tits" he said with a smirk

"Oh lord were they perfect" I said sitting back laughing

"Oh dear god. I don't even want to know what you are talking about" We turned around and saw Ada taking her coat off

"Ada. Good to see you. What ya doing here?" Arthur asked

"Well so far I'm wishing I could wipe my memory and never remember the conversation I just heard. But I did come to drop some clothes off for our lyd. Just some dresses which i don't wear as much and some don't fit. Afraid I don't have the same body I had before karl"

"Nonsense. You're stunning" Arthur said kissing her cheek

"Ye ye. Well here are the clothes. Tell her any she doesn't like or don't fit, she can choose what she does with them" she kissed my cheek and Arthur's before walking out

"Right, I need to tell you kids something so go get your sister" he said. I nodded and walked into the kitchen to get lyd

Arthur pov

When the kids were back, I sat them on the sofa and handed them a piece of paper which I had spent an hour trying to write

'If the pair of you are happy with it, I would like to get married. Her name is Linda and she's wonderful. Really makes me happy. But only with your blessing will I go through with it' none of them said anything for 5 minutes but Mason was first to speak

"If she makes you happy then of course" he hugged me smiling

"Will I still be your number 1 girl?" Lydia asked. I wrote on the paper

'Always' she smirked and jumped up hugging me

"Then I think it's a marvellous idea. Is that the woman in your office?" I nodded my head

"Oh. Wow. Lovely way to meet our new step mother" she said sarcastically making me chuckle
