"And your brothers Dain and Balekin," I didn't know what to think of the situation, but the moment she said those names I became furious. For multiple reasons...

One. How dare they come to us, their future. They didn't announce they would come and wouldn't have been welcome either way. And secondly the most important reason was they had hurt my Queen. I know she can handle herself, but she was pregnant. Something that they would have noticed, it would have been weird if they hadn't.

I knew her stomach was growing round with our child and I loved it. And it wasn't only her stomach that was getting bigger because of the babe. Their were other body parts growing as well, making every curve in that body of hers being cherished by mine.

Every time I saw it made me realize that we had made that, together -as a team. And knowing she trusted and loved me enough to give up her body and being able to do the things she loved most still amazed me.

If you had told me a few years ago I would be here with Jude by my side, together holding so much power I probably would have laughed and deep down hoped it would have been true -knowing it probably wasn't- and overthinking it for weeks.

I was up and running before I knew it and was just able to hear Jude call out to me, but ignored it making it my priority to get to the dungeons as fast as I possibly could. I know I had time before Jude was going to arrive at the dungeons, so I was going to use as much of that time as possible. Jude was going to be angry maybe even furious, but I didn't care this was about her safety and that of our babe she was carrying within.

I knew I was almost at the location I was trying to reach when I heard voices around the corner. Meaning it didn't take long before I was seeing my supposed to be dead brothers before me. But when I actually saw them I froze. I know it wasn't going to be fun seeing them again, but I wouldn't have thought it would have brought up so many memories -bad ones to be exact.

And then a pair of eyes met mine and I recognized them, they were Balekins. "Brother," he said sounding exited and relieved even, for what I couldn't figure out. "I am glad to see you. Know if you wouldn't mind could you tell these morons to open this cell so we can have a proper conversation," He spoke to me kinder then he ever had, it was freaking me out.

"You honestly think I'm that ignorant?" I asked him genuinely curious, to which I didn't receive an answer. "You are not getting out of there," I said letting out a chuckle. "And why is that? Brother," he finally answered and I knew he was desperate not to let his temper show yet. "Multiple reasons with which I'm not going to bore you -yet," I told him moving closer, to the point in which I finally stood in front of him, the only thing that was keeping us from touching where the bars he stood behind, locked in with no way out.

"Like it could bore us more then sitting in a cell all day and hearing that wench cry more tears then all of us thought was even possible," he said trying to challenge me, but the only things I heard after that where the gasps and insults thrown at him from Jude's family after that comment and of course Taryn's cries. God I forgot how annoying she was back then, she changed after having her babe, she grew up.

"I haven't missed your absence for a single second," I told him amused. I heard the bomb chuckle and when I looked her way I saw that the roach -who was standing next to her- had face palmed himself. I raised my eyebrow at them, waiting for an answer, but they dismissed it.

"Absence?" I heard Balekin ask, making me realise why my two friends reacted like they did. "Don't you worry 'bout that," I told him as unsuspiciously as I could.

"Well I suggest you get us out of here brother," Dain, I had forgotten he was here to. "And why is that?" I asked him crossing my arms over my chest as I turned to look at him. "As I have gathered we're in the future, right? Meaning I'm your High king. So I don't know why I'm locked in this cell, but I strongly suggest you open it so I don't have to make your head roll against treason," after he said that I did the only thing I could do -laugh.

"That's funny, it really is, but you'll never get out of here unless I say so," I told them. But before one of them could say a word someone else did. "Cardan!" It was Jude. "And that's my biggest reason why," I told all of them right before Jude turned the corner. "My Queen," I said greeting her as I took her by her hand. When she stood in front of me I caressed the cut she had gotten only a few moments ago before I stared right at the man who I supposed did this to her.

He gulped and I could see it in his eyes I was correct, he had injured Jude and was the reason our child had been in possible danger.
