A bit of bad news

So...once I posted this fanfic on the Pretty Cure Wiki, and yes, it was liked by many. But, somehow, it was copied by someone on it a few days later. It was a Bad End Beauty fanfic, and while they apologised, I still felt really bad that I was copied by someone. Also, now that I've somehow gotten into Cuphead and The Cuphead Show (even though I haven't played the game), I feel like traveling back in time and putting this on a post:

This is from a video I watched, you can find it above, and it's a piracy warning for the Cuphead game, but I edited it to match my situation. Anyways, I'm glad that the person apologised, but I feel that copying is wrong, (I know it 'cause I read it myself) and that it should be stopped. And a bit of advice, don't do that, and make sure to tell someone when you're being copied. That being said, here are a few ways you can find out if you're copying someone, or if someone's copying you:

-Read the person's fanfic. Then check yours. If they are different, then it's okay, or it may be an inspiration. Otherwise, you might be getting copied.

-After you post your fanfic or take a look at the other person's fanfic, check the publication date. If you copied the person or if the person copied you, then it will be read the same, and the date will be after the original's publication.

-Check the story. If it has a different storyline, with some bits and pieces from yours or if you have some from theirs, then it's fine. Otherwise, if it's completely the same down to the details, ask them to change it or report on them, or if you're the one who's copying it, immediately change it!

-If you ever write a story based on someone else's fanfic, first, ask for permission, but only put a little bit of similarities, not a lot. Also, make sure to credit the original author when you're at it.

I hope you see these warnings carefully, and be careful. Don't copy anyone.
