TW! MENTION OF KNIFE
To say you hated Peter Parker would be an overstep but not too far off. It wasn’t that you hated him, you just didn’t like how intelligent he was.
You had been “fighting” with Peter over the title of top student since the beginning of High school. It had started off relatively friendly but that soon went away during the middle of tenth grade when he had accidentally tripped and landed on top of your table during the science fair, you had insulted him a bit too much afterwards though.
Walking into school that day you had caught up with your sister Gwen, who was too busy working on a paper to notice your presence.
“You left early this morning, Did you have another late night last night?" Gwen glanced up from the paperwork to look at you and nodded her head while going back to the work
“I'm getting close to figuring something out that could change everything” You hummed in agreeance. You both walked down the hallways in a comfortable silence for a while before you sensed a presence walking behind the two of you, turning back and making eye contact with the one person who could ruin the mood you were in.
Peter Parker
You sucked in a breath while Peter looked towards the ground, saying your goodbyes to Gwen you ran off towards your first period class and away from the confrontation that could have happened.
You sat down in your seat and took out the Trigonometry textbook that weighed down your backpack more than it needed to.
You had made sure on the first day that you had picked the perfect seat, right in the middle of the room.
Looking up from the pages of your textbook you noticed that Peter had taken a seat and was turned around looking directly at you. You scrunched your eyebrows together and gave him a confused look.
Finally realizing that you had caught him staring at you he hastily turned around and went back to looking at the board. You shook your head and continued on with the math problem that was set up on the board.
~Timeskip~
The final bell had rung and you had made sure you had everything already packed into your backpack so you were able to track down Peter. Getting up from your seat you walked out the door and into the hallway to hunt down the little weirdo.
Now standing in the middle of the hallway when there are a bunch of rowdy teenagers itching to go home is a sure fire way to get dirty looks and pushed but you could care less right. Scanning the hallways it took a few minutes before you finally spotted the dark brown head of hair scurrying away in the other direction you were in.
“PARKER!” Everyone in the hallway, including Peter, turned after hearing you loudly yell his name.
Turning around Peter was absolutely terrified when he saw you with a furrowed brow and standing like you were about to punch someone. Peter gave a sheepish smile before turning back around and taking off.
It was a good minute before Peter heard the sound of your boots running after him and your voice letting out a low string of curse words. Looking over his shoulder he saw you gaining on him.
He had forgotten that, even though you had quit, you were on the school's track team for a while. God how were you still so fast?
You were so happy that you kept up with running even if you quit the team, it was probably the only reason you were getting as close to Peter as you were right now.
He had made it out to the football field before you had tackled him to the ground. At this point he was breathing aggressively while it seemed you hadn't been affected by the chase.
"Why didn't you stop?"
You were standing over him as he laid on the turf, looking at him like he was a bug and you were about to stomp on him. He caught his breath and went to stand up before you could actually stomp him.
"When a girl yells your last name loudly and gives you a death glare then you don't think, you only move."
You let out a laugh which confused Peter more, he had never heard you laugh before especially around him.
"I just wanted to talk about what happened in first period. It's not like I was going to assault you. "
Peter didn't really know how to react anymore. This was the longest that you two had talked to each other without using insults or curse words.
It was then that your phone vibrated with a text from your sister
Gwen:) - Dad says that if you're gonna take the subway again have your pocket knife in an accessible place, love ya
You - I always do, love you too
Looking up from your phone you noticed that Peter was skating away. You sighed as you made sure your pocket knife was safely placed in the back pocket of your pants before you started after the awkward boy.
You were sure as hell going to find out what was going on with Peter even if it meant tailing him after school like a weirdo.
