"I may regret the way we ended. But I will never regret what we had."

"He looked for you the first thing he woke up." My mom informed me with a slight tremor in her voice, "Almost had a panic attack, poor child, if it wasn't for Saeun.." She trailed off with a sigh.

It had been 2 weeks since Jaehyun had woken up. He was being looked after well by everyone. And yet, I hadn't even stolen a glimpse of him since that day.

"Anyways, he's fine and up now," She told me, her hands invested in placing her favourite biscuits on a saucer. She paused for a while, "It seems like Sunghoon and Saeun are tending well to Jaehyun. He is much healthier than before."

I smiled, glancing up at her as she placed the tray down on the coffee table in front of me. Taking a cup of tea for myself, I turned around the moment I heard the front door close shut.

And there was my dad, a newspaper rolled up in his right hand while the left one was invested in typing away on his phone.

A family day? It felt weird, having mom suddenly call me over like this for a little chat. Dad had finally returned from his business trip a few days ago, and I knew for once the topic I had been trying to avoid since forever would be discussed on this table today.

My dad unfolded the newspaper, before keeping it in front of him as he took his seat on the table with us, "Here," Mom passed him a cup of tea along with the saucer full of biscuits over to him. He cleared his throat, glancing at me for a moment before he turned towards his cup of tea that called for his attention so dearly.

"If this is about your business," I spoke up after a while, piercing my words through the silence, "I haven't changed my decision. I'm not going to USA." I told them firmly, watching as none of them moved a muscle upon my declaration. I raised my eyebrow, expecting a revolted statement from my parents on how good it would be for everyone if I would just listen to them for once.

I watched as mom gently placed the tea cup down with a soft clank, grabbing a tissue to gently pat her mouth with. She then turned to me with a sigh, "We're not sending you to USA anymore anyways." She revealed.

My eyes widened a bit at their sudden change of mind, "What?"

"There's no use of forcing you to go to somewhere you aren't interested in going. We only have one daughter, and we wouldn't want her to remember us as someone she despised." It was dad who spoke up this time.

"Right," Mom agreed, "Areum, we know we weren't there for you as parents should be, which is why we're asking for another chance today," She spoke in a soft, in a pleading voice, looking at me rather anxiously, "Let's work on our relations further on, shall we Areum?"
