[COMPLETE]
A story where your boyfriend is your wingman.
Time was like a ticking time bomb for Wu Jaehyun, and every passing moment he could feel himself drift further away from his only source of happiness, his girlfriend.
He wanted things to be...

"So, what's the purpose of today's meeting?" He asked as he swallowed the bite of Japchae he had ordered, his eyes not leaving mine. His eyes, they held a different type of power. As if I couldn't possibly look away even if I wanted to.
"I wanted a few answers." I said as I swirled my spoon inside my soup.
He hummed, beckoning me to go on, "What was the last time you met Jaehyun?" I asked as he stopped chewing for a second. He looked up as his perfect black eyebrows squinted together as he tried to recall.
"More than a month." He said, not realising what storm that answer had caused inside my heart. "Why?"
So Jaehyun lied about being with Sunghoon.
"It's nothing important." I smiled and shook my head. He looked unconvinced, but nodded anyways. "Can I ask for another help?"

I heard the keys jingle from the front door as it swung open to reveal a tired Jaehyun.
"Where were you?" I asked as he kept the keys back into the drawer by the door, his face devoid of any warmth.
"With Sunghoon." He answered nonchalantly, as I felt my throat thicken, "You?"
"With Juyeon." I muttered as he nodded.
We both knew we were lying at this point, but chose to keep quiet. Only the reasons to our silence were different.
"I'm just so tired these days. I'm going to cancel that membership I applied for in that gym. I don't think my body can take anymore." He groaned out as he looked at his left wrist, rotating it in slow, circular motions.
"Your stamina needs a boost," I mumbled as he looked at me, "You were always so sporty. What happened now?"
He gulped as he looked away, "I really don't know." He said before he cleared his throat, "But you know, there is something that could boost my stamina right now."
I squinted my eyebrows as I looked away from my phone, up at a smirking Wu Jaehyun.
Shit was about to go down.

"Areum?" He let out, wrapping his arm around my waist as he pulled me closer to him, "I'm planning to go to Daegu next week."
I opened my eyelids, my eyebrows furrowed at the unplanned decision, "Why?"
I heard him gulp before his hoarse voice spoke up again, "I— I just miss my hometown. And anyways, mom was asking me to go meet her."
I chewed on my bottom lip as I heard that. It was true that Mrs. Wu would give her son a call daily, and wouldn't leave a chance to invite him over.
"Sure, you can go anytime you want." I said as I patted his arm softly. I felt him smile against my neck before he pecked the skin.

"When are you going to tell her?" Ms. Seo asked the man in front of her, as she wrote away on a paper clipped to her writing pad.
"When the time comes?" Jaehyun answered as he looked outside the window, watching two pigeons make out on the cable.
"And when is that?" She chortled while putting her pen down, unclipping the paper after.
There was a moment of silence, just Seo Taehee watching Jaehyun and him staring outside the building.
He took in a deep breath, a small sad smile breaking out, "When Areum falls out of love, when she starts liking someone else."
At those words, Taehee halted her actions, the half-folded paper slipping out of her grip onto the table. She looked up at the male, thunderstruck at his statement.
"What— She loves you. Why would you want her to fall out of love with you— Who will she like other than you—"
"Sunghoon. This way it'll be easier for her to bid the goodbyes. Now, I would appreciate if you could hurry it up a little bit. You see, I'm in a hurry." Jaehyun replied, his tone cold unlike his usual warm demeanour. A rise of painful yet treasured memories rushed in front of Ms. Seo's eyes, as if a reel that was left untouched for years had been replayed again.
Ms. Seo nodded meekly, picking up the paper and folding it properly. She signed it before handing the paper over to Jaehyun.
His personal life was none of her matter and she knew better than poking her nose into other people's business. But she knew somewhere that Jaehyun were to drag her into this mess and she didn't have a good feeling about it all.
