Y/n's POV

"I'm sorry Mirabel for what happened. I really do" I whisper to her with my calm voice.

Mirabel stopped crying but I could still hear her crying.

She didn't say a thing and snuggle closer to my side, so close that my heart is beating fast and I don't know if she can hear it.

We're sitting on the couch after she vent and told me everything. It's truly sad what happened especially that she's close to her Abuela even tho señora is a harsh to her having no gift before.

"I don't know what we're going to do– what I'm going to do now that abuela is gone." She sniff, I brush her hair and hum as a comfort.

"You'll be alright Mirabel, I'm here now and you're family is still there and I'm sure señora is still taking care all of you even if she's gone" Mira nod her head and sigh, that makes me smile a little.

"That's probably right but she's the head of our family. Who's going to handle the Madrigals now? Who will lead the encanto?"

"Your mother? I mean she's the oldest among all of her siblings right? And I think Julieta will make the encanto beautiful and peace just like señora did" I smile, the girl beside me scoot backwards a little and look in my eyes.

"No" she said and leaned her back on the back of couch.

"Huh? What do you mean by 'no'?"

"She doesn't want to. My mamá said she don't want to change Abuela's position— ugh.. I don't know anymore" she sigh, I move close to her and hug hee side.

Mirabel was surprised at that but she comfortably leaned in my touch. Small smile left her lips.

I know she's having a hard time right know and I'm willing to stay by her side until she gets better and move on.

Without thinking I suddenly kissed her forehead, it last long for almost a minute before I realize what I did.

I immediately pulled my face and look sideways avoiding her but my hand is still around her. It's just a friendly kiss right, Mirabel is in loss right now so there's no wrong about that.

"I'm sorry, I didn't think first—"

"It's okay y/n" I face her, eyebrows raising staring at her curiously.

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

"You said it's okay and your face is kinda getting red" I replied, removing my hand off her while referring at her face.

"Oh" she hold her face using both of her hand, cupping it and meet my gaze again.

"It's okay because you're comforting me, right?" She chuckled awkwardly, I nod my head slowly and wait for her to speak

"And also, I wanted to say— something to you, it's like uhh—" she stammered while doing some sort of hand gestures

"What is it? Say it, I can't seem to understand you" I narrowed my eyebrow while looking at her intently.

"It's like a confe—"

"Hello?! Is anyone in here?"

"There's someone outside. Wait here okay, I'm going to face who is it" I stood up before she can finish her sentence.

Mirabel nod her head, her face looks somewhat disappointed and annoyed at the same time, maybe because she was interrupted.

I walk towards the door and see Luisa, she was tapping her feet while waiting and when she saw me the woman compose herself.
