Pipers POV;I couldn't sleep, not after the other night with Peter. I couldn't stop thinking about it. What I said. My mind was running wild, arguing with itself over whether he was being genuine or not. God, how should I know.
I was wandering as per usual when I heard whispers from the room beside me.
I should keep walking.
I didn't.
I slowly and quietly made my way to press my ear next to the door.
"I don't know Four, it's all just a dream!" I heard Tris whisper yell to who I'd now assume was Four.
"What happens in your dream? Tell me Tris, I can only help if you tell me" he was persistent as usual but he sounded different.
"I'm essentially being raised like a pig for slaughter, I'm to be murdered. Not just me" my brows creased as she spoke. Trying to piece together what was happening. Was she crying?
"Who else? Who else was there?" He was demanding.
"Christina, Will and-" she stopped, "and Peter"
"Peter Hayes?"
"Yes, 3 others I vaguely recognised, but their faces were blurred" she continued on. I was trying to picture what she spoke of.
"What about Piper, was she there?"
I listened more intently after hearing my name.
"Well, yes but not in the same way" she seemed nervous now. Now that I'd thought about it she hadn't really spoken to me often in the past week or so. "Piper was uh- she was the one to kill us all" my heart sunk. She'd been dreaming of me killing her.
Why would she dream about something like that.
"Piper wouldn't do that" Four had now defended me.
"I know that, I just don't know why it's her. Out of everyone. Why is she to kill Peter as well" my mind ran over and over all they'd said.
"That's it." Four sounded serious. "I need to see Piper" i heard shuffling and ran to hide around the corner. The door opened and the walking dispersed.
I breathed out. A breath is been holding for quite some time, "you need to work on your eavesdropping" I jumped at the voice of Four from beside me.
"What? I wasn't-"
"Cut the crap Piper, what did you hear?" He was serious. He didn't sound how he sounded while speaking to Tris.
"I heard about her dream"
"Sound familiar?" He pressed. My brows knitted together. It did. Sound familiar.
"My fears"
"Bingo, look this is a lot to ask but we need to look into that fear, it's for Tris, I can't-" he rambled on, I'd never heard him ramble nor look so uncomfortable before so I cut him off.
"Of course. Tris is my friend, I'd do anything to keep her secret safe" I clasped a hand to my mouth after realising what I'd said.
"She told you?"
"Not exactly, look forget I said it. What are we doing about my fears?" I tried to divert. He allowed it.
"We'll meet in the fear booth, I'll get everyone else there." My eyes widened.
"Who's everyone?"
"Everyone that's here in that fear of yours" he stopped talking taking in my expression, "you're worried about Peter knowing" I nodded, "I don't need to specify exactly what happens in the fear, nor why he's a part of your fear, you need to except that first"
