Aleksi Vasev stands in the darkness of the room, staring out into the day. Watching from afar, his mother is engulfing Eva into a hug. He hasn't seen his mother in two months. He hasn't seen Eva's bába in three weeks. Until everybody found out she died.

He hasn't seen Eva in ten years.

There's an unfamiliar man standing next to Eva. He shakes his mother's hand and sees her give him an unusual look of distaste. Makes Aleksi's blood boil.

The woman behind him moans in pleasure but he does his best to block out her begs. Nikolay Manevski groans too until the woman's moans grow louder and louder and louder until she comes. A small hand snakes across Aleksi's waist until a fragile human is looking up at him.

"Let me distract you." She purrs, her breasts perked and hard, touching his clothed body. She slowly gets down on her knees and begins unbuttoning his pants. Before she can reveal him, Aleksi watches as Eva vanishes from his view and goes into her bába's garden.

"No," Aleksi growls, grabbing the woman's wrist to stop her from pulling down his boxers. "Leave," Blood is still lingering on her dark skin, from the bite marks he created earlier today.

"I know you want it." She purrs and Aleksi grows annoyed.

"Kazakh si trŭgvaĭ." He hisses, exposing his razor-sharp fangs. He flings her back and with the inhumane strength he has, she falls back on her butt. Giving him a look of embarrassment, she gets up and says vulgar words in Bulgarian before leaving the room.

Aleksi doesn't move after he fastens his pants again. He watches the man that came with Eva take luggage's and bags out of their rental. His ears perk up to the rustling behind him and Nikolay slips on his shirt when he stands beside him.

"She has returned." Nikolay—their creator—says to him. Aleksi glares at him, sweat glistening off his pale skin. He peaks over his shoulder and sees a fully naked woman sprawled on the couch. Twirling her blonde hair between her fingers and staring up at the ceiling in a daze. The room smells of sex but it's the only room Aleksi can see Eva's bába's home from here.

They both watch Viktoria leave the home alone in her white dress. Walking down the gravel road to her own house. Nikolay gestures ahead and chuckles to himself.

"Go say hello." Aleksi gives him a look before turning back to the window.

"You're an asshole." He replies, making Nikolay's laugh grow louder.

They can't go outside during the daytime or they will burn. Once the sun sets, that's when they can roam the village. The children of the night.

"Don't worry, you will see her tonight. I heard they're having a big feast in the square." Nikolay pats him on the shoulder before turning away. "Poveche, ot koito da izbirame."

The woman giggles from behind and Aleksi's nostrils flare when he smells the blood being spilt from her body. The fresh wound on her thigh that Nikolay just bit into.

There she came again, peering out from the garden. Aleksi goes rigid when he watches her look around in curiosity. A soft, gentle smile on her lips. He examines her body from head to toe.

Her long brown hair being kissed from the warm rays of the sun. The almond shape of her eyes and how soft they look like a cat. They haven't changed since they were children. The last summer he saw her before she went back to America. Her skin is bronze and glistening. She is a walking aura.

Aleski's skin itches from thinking about it—his body softening just thinking about her. He wonders how she smells now. The same? Stronger? Better? Tastier? He pulls away from the window when Eva looks up at the tower.

She knows Nikolay has lived here since she's been born. But what she doesn't know is that Aleksi lives with him now too. With the rest of the children of the night. Eva doesn't know that has changed since she's been gone, and he knows for sure Viktoria didn't say anything to her either.

Yet, even when Aleksi isn't watching Eva, he can't stop thinking of her in his mind. The way her tank top kissed every curve of her body. Grown into a woman he'd never think of. Her breasts peaking from on top and how perfect they look. The way her top ride up a little and exposed her belly button. Skinny jeans tight on her legs and her feet grounded barefoot.

Aleksi can't stand the thought of talking to her, more so, be inches away from her. But the idea of her being here makes him excited and a little nervous.
