Part 13

"I love you Asami-san!" Tobio yelled as he stood on the hill, cherry blossom petals blowing in the wind, he looked at Asami as she stood there staring at him with a blank stare.
"Don't do this to yourself Tobio. " she said bluntly.
"What do you mean? " He asked looking at her confused.
"I don't like you; I never have. I just stick with you because I have to, because you're too pathetic to make any other friends. " She spat.
His heart sank at her words, he reached out for her, but she slowly faded away and the ground opened up under him, falling into a seemingly bottomless pit.
Tobio woke up with a jolt as his alarm blared, sitting straight up, his heart pounding a cold sweat on his forehead.
He wiped it away and laid back turning his alarm off.
His door swung open, and he was greeted by Asami's smiling face,
"Morninggggg! " She cheered waving at him.
He stared at her for a little, he didn't know what to say.
"What are you doing here? " He asked rubbing his eyes.
"Well, I couldn't sleep, so I came over around 4:00 am, chilled for a little, then made breakfast for you and your mom! Then me and your mom just talked until just a minute ago. " She explained.
He yawned and got up and walked slowly to the door as he pasted her, he put his hand on her head ruffling her hair before making his way to the bathroom.
"Have a good shower! " She called after him.
"Who even says that? " He laughed as he closed the door.
He got in the shower, the warm water pelting his skin, he wet his hair, running his fingers through it, then massaging the shampoo into his hair, closing his eyes as he rinsed it out, then put some conditioner in, while he let the conditioner sit, he washed his body, thinking about the day to come.

Asami looked around Tobio's room, it was pretty bland unlike hers, which walls had posters and photos everywhere.
"Oooh what's this? " She gasped as she looked at his desk seeing an open drawer, as she sat down in his chair, she grabbed a book that was inside, the cover was blank, was it a diary? No, it couldn't be because Tobio didn't seem like the person to have a diary, but what if...?
"I'll only look at two pages. " she said to herself opening the book. It sure wasn't a diary, because when she opened it, she saw photos glued to the pages, little side notes next to them. All of them were either of her, or him and her.
She looked at one, it was from his 6th birthday party, they were both stuffing their faces with cake. And besides it, it said 'my 6th birthday party, Asami and me eating cake:)'
She smiled as she looked down at the next photo, it was Asami on the first day of 3rd year in grade school.
And it said 'Asami on the first day of 3rd year in grade school surprised that I took her photo. '
She went to turn the page until she heard her name being called.

As he finished rinsing his hair he got out and went to reach for his towel, which wasn't there.
Sh!t. His mom must have done laundry and hadn't replaced his towels.
"Asami! " He called.
"Yeah? " She asked pressing her ear to the door.
"Can you get me a towel? " He asked
"Oh sure. " She replied and hurried to the hallway closet grabbing a towel.
"Alright I'm going to open the door. "
"CLOSE YOUR EYES. " Tobio called
"YEAH, I KNOW STUPID. " Asami replied opening the door her eyes squeezed shut throwing the towel and shutting the door.
"Thanks." He replied drying himself off and wrapping the towel around his waist.
He opened the door and walked into his room, closing the door, looking around to make sure Asami wasn't in there before letting his towel drop and start to change into his school uniform.
He looked at his desk to see his drawer was open, his stomach sank as he saw his photo book laying open on the desk. He hurried over and looked at it, phew it was only opened to the front page, but what if she had looked through the whole thing!? Oh, that would be horrible if she did!
He dried his hair with the towel and hurried downstairs.
"Oh, morning honey! Come eat breakfast before you leave! " His mom called.
He nodded and sat down eating the scrambled eggs that Asami had made.

Asami sat down on the couch by Mrs. Kageyama, she looked to see Tobio eating the eggs, she knew it wasn't an often-eaten thing in Japan, but when she visited America, they made that all the time, so she wanted to try her hand at making it.
"So Asami, how have you been? " She asked.
Asami smiled.
"I've been good, school is basically the same as it's always been. " She replied.
"No trouble with Kaori? " Mrs. Kageyama asked raising an eyebrow.
"No, she's left me alone. " She laughed
"That's good, say, do you have a boyfriend?" Mrs. Kageyama asked.
Asami froze and she heard Tobio start coughing in the back as he drank some water.
"Heh- no... " She said lightly looking away in embarrassment.
"What about that Oikawa fellow? I know you and him were together for a while, and didn't you guys hang out at the festival? " Mrs. Kageyama asked looking away from Asami for a little to glance at her son.
"Oh- uh-" Asami mumbled scratching the back of her head.
"Hey Asami, we should go, so we aren't late for school. " Tobio interrupted standing up and going to the door sitting down to put his shoes on.
"Oh ok, sounds like a good idea. " She said getting up and putting her shoes on as well.
"Bye mom! " Tobio called.
"Bye Mrs. Kageyama! " Asami called as well.
"Bye kiddos! " Mrs. Kageyama replied as the door closed.
"Thanks for saving me back there. " Asami said gratefully.
"No problem, sorry my mom is always like that. " He apologized
Asami smiled.
"it's ok, my mom bugs me about boyfriends too. " She laughed.
"Well, " he said then looked to Asami.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" He asked, it sounded like he was hesitant to ask, which was weird.
"No of course not! If I did you would probably be the first one to know. " He replied.
"Well, you never know, you might have had a secret boyfriend who you told nobody about. " He chuckled.
Asami gasped.
"I would never hide anything from you! " She exclaimed. well, only my feelings... Wait what am I thinking!? I don't like him like that.
"Oh, are you sure about that? " Tobio teased with a smile, she loved seeing him smile, especially after his dad passing it was hard to get him to smile, but when she did, she felt a sweet satisfaction.
"If course I am! " She grumbled playfully, leaping up and wrapping her arms around his neck making him lean down and look her in the eyes.
"I would never lie to you Tobio-chan." She said sweetly.
