Like.. an Intervention?

     I leaned against the table, the others in the living room after the settling from the whole big puke fest. Nate left and the other's got dressed. Cassie seemed a bit better, not as hysterical as she was earlier. Suze got her to calm down. I sighed, making my way towards the front door as someone pounded on the front door real quick. Lexi was answering the door, not me.. I was just nosy.

"Hey."

"Hey are you okay?" Lexi was quick to ask Rue, her making her way in the room quickly. She looked back at me, nodding a hello as I waved. She looked sweaty, jittery and in pain. Oh fuck, she's fuckin detoxing isn't she? I looked at Rue worriedly, trying to ask if she was okay with my eyes but she avoided eye contact.

"Mh-hm. I think I just have, like, a cold or something." She held her stomach in her arms, trying not to double over at the pain. I knitted my brows together in concern, walking closer beside Lexi.

"You sure you good Rue?" I asked, trying to get her to talk. She nodded shakily, but quickly.

"Okay, well, don't get me sick cause I have rehearsal."

"That you still won't let me read." I mumbled bitterly. She shot me a quick look, both of us turning back to Rue.

"I can't- I can't get you sick." She yawns out.

"Okay, well, colds are contagious, so.."

"Yeah, I realize that, but it's just- It's not that kind of thing. Can I use your bathroom, please?" I looked off to the side, Maddy, Cassie and Kat making their way over.

"Hey, Rue!"

"Oh, hi." Maddy hugs her, Rue not comfortable in the slightest.

"Hey, oh. Oh, yeah."

"Oh my God." The others hugged Rue one by one, Suze making her down down the stairs now.

"Hey, Rue. Oh jeez. Are you feelin okay?"

"Yeah." Lie. I looked at Rue, her struggling to keep a straight face.

"You look terrible-"

"Yeah."

"I mean, really terrible." I deadpanned at Suze, trying not to smile at her brutally honest statement.

"Yeah, I think I just have, like, a cold or something."

"Well, don't get me sick. I have a compromised immune system. But other wise you doin okay?" I watched Kat and Maddy walk off quietly talking to themselves as Suze stood on the stairs.

"Uh-huh." She does look bad. I thought she was doing better with the drugs. I knew she was starting to use more but just how much more has she been using? I frowned at Rue, seeing the exhaustion and pain she was trying to hide on her face.

"How's your mom? I was thinking about her the other day."

"Yeah, she's good."

"And how's your sister?"

"Yeah, good." I looked between them, looking back at Lexi as this continues.

"You staying clean?"

"Uh-huh."

"Yeah? Bein a good girl?"

"Mm-hm." This is so painful.

"How long have you been clean for?"

"Um, since the summertime." I sighed quietly.

"Now, are you in AA, or are you in NA?"

"Um, NA."
