Time skip to The Splatfest incident...
After Mario and his friends helped Axol with the anime unban, They were in Inkopolis for the splatfest. While they were doing some final things, they couldn't find Meggy.
SMG4: Where the hell is Meggy?!
Tari looked at her boyfriend in confusion.
Tari: Huh? We thought she was with you.
Luigi: We can't find her anywhere!!
Mario looked at his brother,
Mario: What?! But the splatfest is about to start!
Saiko: Don't worry, maybe she's doing some training and forgot about the time.
Mario: How can she forget an important time like the splatfest?
A few seconds later a bell then goes off.
Luigi: Oh no! That's us! We need to go!!
Boopkins started to get worried.
Boopkins: What do we do? We'll be disqualified with only 3 people!
SMG4 then had an idea.
SMG4: We're going to have to fill her in with a substitute until we can find her.
Saiko: Who would fill in for Meggy?
They all then started to think.
Then they all turned their attention to Bob.
A few minutes later, Bob was the substitute and they all went out onto the arena.
Bob: Oh GoD dAmN iT!
The team saw the crowd cheering.
Luigi: Who's going to lead us?
Tari: It's ok, remember our training.
Mario: Yeah! That's the spirit!
The Squid Sisters then appear.
Callie: Welcome everyone to Splatfest 2019!!
Everyone in the crowd starts cheering.
Marie: Our matchup tonight is the Splatsquad!
Marie then introduced the other team. Desti's team.
Marie: Opposing them is the Octoposse!
Tari: Wait what?!
Desti then looked over at the Splatsquad and noticed that something didn't seem right.
Desti: Where the hell is Meggy?!
Callie then banged a gong.
Marie: Let's go!!!
The timer for 2 minutes started.
Desti: Whatever. Get 'em girls!
Octolings: Right!!
They run off the spawn plate and start splashing purple paint everywhere. As for the Splatsquad...
Luigi: Bang bang.
He shoots and makes tiny puddles.
They were making very little progress, Bob was just being stupid, as usual.
Bob: Um HoW dO yOu WoRk ThiS?
He said as he held a splattershot. He then threw it.
Bob: ScReW iT!
