"And that was the hospital..." I sign, grinning as I lead Acacia and Grayson out of the reception and back into the open area surrounding this part of the territory. I've just spent the past hour showing the two of them around the territory, from the schools to the pack houses and just about everything in between.
"I guess we should probably go back to our house now though, dinner will be ready soon..." I start, turning to look at them. "Although I'm sure we will have some time to kill, and now that I think about it, I should probably finish showing you around the rest of our parent's house."
I flash them a grin and quickly turn and proceed to march back towards the house with Acacia and Grayson in tow.
"E-e-v-ver-ry-th-th-ing h-has ch-ch-chan-g-ged s-so m-much," Acacia says quietly as she follows along behind me.
"Yeah it has, but you'll get used to it, I promise" I reply aloud, reassuringly. "Plus, some things haven't changed... like your old room!"
"W-wait, w-w-what-t? W-what d-do y-you m-me-e-ean?" she asks, shock and curiosity laced in her tone, stopping in her tracks.
I turn back and look at them, a grin plastered on my face.
"Mom and Dad kept your room the same as it was when you were taken. They restored it to its former glory after the war and kept it the same in the hopes that you would come home."
"O-oh m-my g-g-o-od" she whispers, in complete shock.
"Come on, I'll show you" I giggle, ushering them along. We proceed to make our way back to the house, making small talk as we go. I missed being able to just talk to my sister. Sure, I had friends growing up, but it was never the same.
"Hey, Claire! Wait Up!" a cheerful voice yells out from the distance. I stop and turn around to find Oscar running over to us with a grin on his face. I giggle as he closes the distance and sweeps me into a hug.
Unsurprisingly, he looks as perfect as always. His short dark hair is swept to the side over his forehead and his brown eyes are warm and inviting. He is wearing dark blue jeans and a white V-neck shirt that very conveniently shows off his muscular arms. He's about the same age as Acacia - We've known him since I was a little kid - and he's now one of my best friends. I definitely wouldn't mind if he ends up being my mate but I guess I'll have to wait until I turn sixteen to find that one out.
"How have you been, cutie? I haven't seen you in forever! You're always so busy," he mumbles against my shoulder before setting me down in front of him to look at me.
"I know, I'm sorry. But I'm going to be way less busy now that I don't have to go on search parties anymore" I reply, grinning as I flash a glance at Acacia and Grayson. She gives me a curious look whilst Grayson has his expression locked down.
"Oh... I'm sorry Claire, I know how hard it has-" Oscar starts, his face falling but I quickly cut him off.
"No, you idiot, look..." I giggle. Grabbing his arms, I spin him around to face Acacia and Grayson. We all watch as his jaw drops in shock before quickly recovering into a massive grin with a hint of disbelief.
"Oh my god, Acacia!" he exclaims, pulling her into a hug. A low growl proceeds to tumble out of Grayson's mouth, his expression hardening. Instantly, Oscar puts Acacia down and backs away from her slowly. I giggle at the interaction and Grayson shoots me a glare before turning his attention back to Oscar.
"Umm, Oscar. Allow me to introduce you to Acacia's mate, Alpha Hays of the Scarlett Moon Pack" I chuckle as Grayson snakes an arm protectively around Acacia's waist. She looks up at him for a moment and gives him a small smile before looking back at us.
