Author's Note : I'm so sorry that this chapter is late. I've been super busy this past week and my writer's block wasn't helping either.

"What did you kids do all afternoon?" my Dad asked.

I played around with my mashed potatoes knowing that Randy would answer the question. That night's dinner filled the table to the brim. There was mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and fried chicken. Even though the food tasted amazing I couldn't help but think about what happened before in my room.

I was 100% sure that it will get awkward with Randy and I did not want that to happen. Having a close relationship turn awkward isn't what I need right now. Especially since I just broke off a close relationship not too long ago.

"We just stayed in Nari's room fixing it up and stuff."

"You mean renovating it?" Mr. McConway added.

"Yeah, I guess you could call it that. We're planning on finishing tomorrow."

~ If he's planning on seeing me again tomorrow, then he's not feeling awkward. Good. ~

"That sounds great! Come over whenever you can." my Mom said.

"You're gonna have a lot of work on your plate then." I smiled.

Randy's eyes darted to me and a teasing smile played on his face, "WE are gonna have a lot of work on OUR plate."

~ That feels normal. Randy teasing me feels normal. Not awkward. Good. ~

After talking about our day, mostly our parents' day, the conversation drifted to our summer vacation.

"There are new vacation homes down at that new beach."

"They do look nice, but our old vacation home would be nice to visit again."

A nudge on my foot pulled me away from their talk. I looked to my left and Randy acted very nonchalant. I knew he did it.

"What is it?" I whispered.

"What was what?"

I scoffed and stepped right on his toes causing him to flinch a bit. After that I refocused on the conversation.

"We haven't been there for a long time. We should bring the kids back." Mr. McConway suggested.

Randy pulled on my ankle in retaliation. I tried to control my facial expression while struggling to get my foot back. I don't even know why he thinks he can do this without our parents noticing. I looked back over at him and he just ate his chicken in peace.

"What do think Nari?"

I stopped moving right when I hear my name. I didn't even know who spoke to me.

"Huh?"

"The old vacation place. You wanna spend summer there?" my Dad repeated.

~ Old vacation place...? ~

Randy pulled at my ankle again and I jumped in surprise.

"Are you okay Sweetie?" Mrs. McConway asks.

"Yeah," I played off, "and the old vacation place sounds like fun!" I finally answered.

"I guess it's settled then!"
