chapter 12

i sat back down and leaned my back against hyoryung, who had immediately walked to me after everything and insisted i stayed with her, barely letting me speak before grabbing my hand quite harshly and sitting me down on her lap

if i saw anyone glaring at her, i pretended like I didn't see it

i closed my eyes, intending on a quick nap when the others excitedly sat up, i looked up and saw a helicopter approaching, it must've been for the laptop

they started jumping and waving at the helicopter to get it's attention but i stayed down, far too tired to get excited over something that won't help us anyway

the helicopter threw a rope out and multiple men started coming down, namra helped me sit up from my place on the floor

cheongsan tried to talk but they all raised guns at us

"get down to the floor!" they ordered and everyone went to their knees, but namra held a tight grip on me

one of them went around us to check temperature, only getting namra as under average so hey gave her a heating blanket

namra heard him say he wil rescue us after the mission, she turned to me and smiled slightly

"you're gonna be safe! i mean, we're gonna be safe" i smiled at her, poor namra, doesn't know that something horrible is gonna happen

they told us to get up and we obeyed

"sir, there is a badly injured student here, she needs help" ms park pointed to me "she got hit badly on the head, she's bleeding, she needs medical assistance"

"we will help afterwards, im sorry but we have important matters"

"more important than a students life?"

"miss..im okay, i can wait a little longer" sunhae didn't seem convinced but let it go anyways

after a couple minutes they came back, telling us we have to go up one by one

they got their stuff ready and everyone let me go up first, wujin pushed me towards the rope when i tried to let somewhere else go

by the time i was almost up there, and another one was getting ready, i started getting pulled down

i already knew the reason, so i stayed calm, although, who would be the case of a hambie now? eunji was with us, who is it now?

i got pulled down and they removed everything, throwing me aimlessly into the crowd

i was throw into joonyeong, who grabbed a tight hold on my arm, as if protecting me from the soldiers

"what's going on?!" "what are you playing at?!" everyone was freaking out, making the anxiety in their chests higher with the guns pointed at them

"at least take her with you! please" cheongsan grabbed my other arm and tried bringing him to them, the man shouting at us shot his gun towards the sky as a warning

"im sorry" he said and took the rope in his hand, and was raised up as the helicopter began flying away

gyeongsu was the first to speak

"this is such bullshit! why would they make it seem like they'd save us?!" he ran a hand through his hair

"this is it..." hyoryung spoke "we're gonna die...no one's gonna save us now"

"they thought we were fucking zombies, didn't they?" wujin said, only anger showed in his voice

"we wouldn't be alive is they thought we were zombies..." isak said "they...they knew we were humans, but they still something so... horrible to us"

everyone was crying, even i stared tearing up, despite knowing it was going to happen

namra was whimpering on the ground, suhyeok was nowhere near her so i went to her, mimicking what he did in the show, ripping a piece of my shirt and rolling it up for her

she looked at me and thanked me, placing it in her ears

it started to thunder and rain,making everyone stand up and stare out into the rain

they tried drinking it, despite having our own drinks thanks to to the music room

everyone was so exhausted, onjo started crying first, then hyoryung and a couple other of the girls, and then some of the boys, i do feel bad for them, but im not sad, i already watched the show so many times, so it's not as sad anymore

i was soaking wet, it was a rather uncomfortable feeling, when cheongsan walked up to me

"y/n" he put a hand on my shoulder "are you okay?" i nodded "are you sure?" i nodded slowly

"really?" i rolled my eyes,it was cute he's so worried, but the feeling of wet clothes sticking to my skin annoyed me more than it should have, causing me to show off the annoyance on my face

"im fine, seriously, you have something to say right?" he nodded, reluctantly letting go of the topic

"the zombies are attracted to the noise, so with the thunder we'll be able to move" he said "wouldn't it be better to die trying to get out, rather than die doing nothing?" i nodded

"cheongsan, you're so smart, what would this group be without you?" i sighed, he blushed and waved it off "stop that, let's just leave"

"what do you have in mind? to leave i mean" joonyeong said

"we can get to the mountain easily, we can geo through the backdoor of the auditorium, go through the english center and we'll be there"

a couple minutes later, we all assembled a plan to save ourselves

"if we get to the mountains, we can reach yangdong,i used to hike there with my dad" onjo said

"isn't this basically suicide? we can't guarantee we'll live"

"im not going, im scared" hyoryung pouted

"its not like anyone will comeback for us, we can only save ourselves" cheongsan said and stood in front of us

"if the zombies catch up to me ill distract them, that way y/n- i mean you guys will be safe"

"if anyone is being sacrificed it should he me, im the adult here,its my duty to protect you guys" sunhae said

"no one is dying tonight, we're all gonna make it" suhyeok said

"if someone has to die, it'll be me, okay? no arguments" sunhae said

"because of the rain, all the scents are mixed up,the rain is loud too, the zombies senses must be messed up too" namra said

"if a hambie says that it must be reliable"

"what's a hambie?"

"half zombie... um someone you can rely on"

"...okay"

"anyways, some of us might not be able to keep up" jimin said

"lets hold hands then" nayeon says "i want to hold y/ns!" "hey! not fair! i want to hold hers!" "me too!" "I've known her the longest so i get to!" "she lives by me so i get to!" "no i do!"

soon enough a small argument incurred, all because they want to hold my hand?

i was having fun listening to them all argue over who gets to hold my hand when sunhae interrupted

"okay okay! keep this up and no one gets to hold her hand" complaints immediately got thrown around "ill pair everyone up" they reluctantly shut up after this and sunhae made the pairs,the situation was quite funny

soon we'll see the rest of the cast, i wonder if I'll have to do anymore saving...
