"So what now?" Cebell questioned with a small smile on her face.

"Well, I was thinking about going back to my kingdom and resting," he placed his hands on her waist.

Now, this was sounding too good to be true. They managed to survive an 'end of the world' situation, Eric surprisingly didn't turn into ash, and now he wants to go back to his kingdom.

"Where do you rest?" she questioned. She had a slight idea where vampires would rest.

"In a coffin, of course!" A small smile formed on his lips.

"But didn't Ivan take everything you owned?"

He knew she was right. Eric cringed to himself, realizing, he probably didn't even have a coffin left. Or better yet, Ivan probably raped the walls of all of its stones. He knew Ivan was a tricky bastard.

"Your right. . ." he trailed off, but to only get a sudden idea.

"But I got a better idea!"

Cebell could only imagine where they were going next. Eric fished through his pocket and pulled out a white piece of fabric. He tossed it over her head and it slowly wrapped around her eyes.

"Eric." Cebell whined.

"Can't let you ruin all the fun." Eric chuckled, lightly.

* * * *

Eric led Cebell through the sunkissed roads, he inhaled deeply knowing that this was the end of the massacre of the human race. And with Cebell by his side, his life couldn't be any more complete, besides the absent piece of the puzzle that remained clear.

Memories of his twin brother flashed through his mind. If only, for one moment, his brother could see Eric and the things he achieved, the things he sacrificed to achieve humanity's gem, the sun. Something that Cebell and Eric were blessed to never burn alive.

Even though no one might discover the two vampires that saved Humanity from the brink of extinction, they were grateful that they both survived the wrath of Ivan and the necromancer.

Eric smiled sweetly to himself, after seeing Cebell's smile, which was plastered on her face like glue. He waved his hand across her face.

"Don't worry, I can't see through this thing. And I'm not using my radar vision to spoil wherever we're going to." Cebell assured Eric.

He led her to the last romantic place Humanity made. But on the other hand, it was certainly one of the most romantic places for vampires. He led her further through the abandoned streets of New York. Even when a cloud of dead plants hung in the air like a toxic cloud. Thick and strong to make any mortal pass out.

His eyes traced over a white, victorian-style, funeral home. The grass was swallowed in thick mud. Only the smallest amount of water soaked the sidewalks, that led up to the funeral home.

Eric wrapped an arm around her waist and pushed past the wooden doors. The room was dimly lit with candles, and shadows of the flames danced freely across. The scent of vanilla hung in the air. Cebell's lips curved into a straight line. She tried her hardest to conceal the flame that burned deep inside her chest. She was more flattered than shocked by how romantic the mood of the room was.

"Eric, where are we?" She questioned curiously. He slipped behind her and untied her blindfold. It descended ever so slowly to the ground. Her eyes traced over the candles that were scattered among the room. The benches were pushed to the side and fake rose petals were scattered along the floorboards. Cebell felt her heart start to stammer at a quick pace.

She was a loss for words. Where did he buy the time to do all of this? She broke away from her thoughts when she felt his breath near her ear.

"I know it's not the most romantic place. But you being here means everything to me."

"Eric..." she muttered with awe. He pushed her hair to the side and pecked her neck. She spun around and placed her hands within his.

"I am at a loss for-." Eric silenced her with a passionate kiss. His gloved palm held her cheek gently. Her fingers threaded through his soft locks. The two broke for air, she smiled lovingly at him. A sudden warmth spread across her cheeks in a deep shade of red. Ever since she transformed fully into a vampire, by the sudden odds of dying, she couldn't help but think their relationship took a notch up.

"First things first, my darling. Close your eyes," he asked her simply, there was no authority in his voice, only passion and care.

Cebell obediently closed her eyes. Eric fished through his pocket to find a small box. The moment his hands held the small box between his fingers, he felt a wave of anxiety consume him. He licked his lips and inhaled deeply.

What if she rejects him?

Was this too fast?

Countless questions frenzied through his mind. As much as his watch winked at him. He gathered himself and got down on one knee.

"You can open your eyes, s-sweetheart." Eric stuttered. He cursed himself for feeling too nervous to concentrate. But this was the moment of truth.

Cebell fluttered her eyes open and her eyes widened when she saw a diamond ring.

"Will you complete the man I am by marrying me?" Eric questioned.

She held her hands over her mouth, tears welled up in her eyes.

Cebell opened her mouth, but the words didn't come out. She nodded, and her lip began to tremble in happiness. He gently took her hand and placed it on her left hand. The feeling of admiration and love made her heart explode. Eric took her into his arms and intertwined his arms around her. Her head rested against her chest.

"You know, I was more worried than you in the beginning," Eric commented, awkwardly.

She chuckled and wiped her tears away with her sleeve.

"There's no other man I'd rather be with," Cebell admitted. She placed her arms around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss.

The kiss began to intensify, he wrapped his hands around her waist and lifted her up. Her legs wrapped around his waist. There was no lust in the kiss, only passion. She couldn't help but to smile and interrupt the kiss. He didn't pay attention to where he wandered. Her lower back bumped against a cleanly prepared coffin. He broke the kiss when she groaned.

His gaze shifted from his lover to what he accidentally bumped her against.

A greedy smile spread across his face, that made Cebell chuckle.

"What are you thinking?" Cebell giggled.

"I'm thinking about how beautiful and what a lucky man I am to have you," Eric admitted, sweetly.

He placed her gently on the padding of the wooden coffin. He took his blazer off and tossed it to the side. His chest pressed against hers when he moved in for a kiss. Tickles of airbrushed beneath her nose. Occasionally, she would think about how she got so lucky. She no longer had to run from the feeling of rejection, or survival. She had her prince of darkness watching her. She couldn't help but feel safe in his embrace. There was no longer hesitation in stepping over a line, that she didn't want to push with this relationship. He loved her as much as she did with him. Cebell no longer had to be afraid of what was lurking out in the world. But most certainly she was no longer his decadent thirst.
