Liems Pov:

I sit down on a couch in the garden. I've always liked the garden here but usually when I come Max's would be in here so I just go somewhere else while mom and dad were busy.

I don't know if it's just Max's being sick but he's been acting weird, he didn't tell me to leave him alone when mom told me to hang out with him, he actually grabbed my hand when I helped him and he hasn't said anything about the way I dress.

"What snacks do you want, liem?" Max asks me. I look at him confused. Usually he doesn't care and gets every non vegan option possible so I cannot have any.

"Um chia pudding would work just fine" I said, shocked shifting in my seat a bit.

"Okay" he turns back to the maid as I sit there astonished, he never acts like this, I never minded the way he used to act. I got used to it honestly and I get why he did since for a while I started being rude to him.

We were kids and people kept making fun of me for hanging out with him saying rude stuff about him in general and I didn't want everyone to hate me so I started being mean to him as well, yelling at him when he wanted to talk to me, ignoring him every chance I got but I got older and realize I was a stuck up brat. I tried apologizing, I sent him countless gifts, chocolates, letters but he never responded and when I did see him he ignored my presence I wish it could go back to how things were before, it was so much simpler maybe he's giving me a chance to make it up too him, if so I am not messing it up this time.

"Liem, are you alright?" I hear Max ask.

"Yeah I'm fine" I say smiling at him and eating my chia pudding.

"Why'd you become vegan?" I hear him ask with interest.

"I don't know there's a few reasons such as important health and animals" I say looking at him with curiosity why did he change so suddenly though.

"Oh" he said taking a bite of his cookies "I don't think I could ever do that these chewy cookies are really the best" he adds smiling I just laugh.

"Stop it" Max says jokingly while laughing as I start laughing more while we're walking towards the castle.

"I don't understand why we weren't friends before" I hear Max say under his breath.

"What do you mean?" I ask as we continue to walk.

"Oh nothing" Max says, rubbing his neck, I just smile, opening the doors to the castle and holding it open for him.

"Thank you my love" Max jokes around doing a courtesy as he steps aside for the door to close. I didn't realize how much I missed joking around with him.

"I wonder where are parents are?" I ask while walking through the building.

"I don't know they could be anywhere, it's like a maze in here" he says laughing until both are parents come out a door talking before seeing us.

"Hey mom, hey dad" Max says smiling.

"Hey sweetheart, are you feeling better?" His mom asked.

"Yeah" he smiles before looking back at me.

"Well that's good, did you too have fun" my mom is the one to ask this, this time.

"Yeah" I reply, running a hand through my black hair.

"Well that's good but we are about to leave, I would suggest you stay here but you do have morning classes tomorrow" my mother says before parting ways with Max's parents.

"See you tomorrow maybe?" Max asks looking up at me, I can't help but smile down at him.

"Of Course" I reply, this is the first time in forever he has suggested hanging out again.

"Well we better get going" I hear my mom say as they begin to leave. I quickly follow, waving goodbye to max.
