Chapter 3: Cass Jennings

•Cass Jennings.

[Cass sitting and talking at the lunchroom table]

•She always looks

[Cass nervously glances to the side]

•Like she needs to run away

[zoom in on Cass's feet tapping]

•[foot tap]

•[foot tap]

{the previous 3 panels are small, square, and consecutive. Spread words across all three}

•And sometimes...

[Cass stands up abruptly]

•[Auden grabs her arm]

•[auden's face]

Auden: "Is something wrong Cass?"

•Cass: "I-I uh... I gotta go"

•She does.

[Cass turns and quickly walks away]

•[Cass bumps into someone's tray]

•[zoom in on Cass's face. She looks surprised/scared]

•[cass replaces her scared look with a slightly angry face]

Cass: "W-watch where you're going!"

•[cass runs out of the room (back-view. Can still see person off to the side)]

Student who was bumped (to self): "Man what is her problem?"

•Anxiety is like coffin

[runs into bathroom]

•With no room to breath

[slams herself against the stall door. Still standing. Back against door, facing sinks and mirror. Front-view. Hanging her head (butterfly drawn in sharpie on stall)]

•How does she expect to catch her breath

[huffs a little

•[starts crying]

•[looks up and focuses on mirror. Panel is of the view she has of the mirror an what's in it (Cass looking at herself and crying. Butterfly still visible.)]

•[Looks up suddenly as school bell rings for next class]

•[wipes her eyes]

•when shes always running?

[quickly moves towards the bathroom door]

•[peers out (only head visible) to see a lot of people walking by]

•As the butterflies in her stomach

[merges with traffic into the hallway]

•eat up all of her thoughts

[tries to stay near the wall. Small butterfly graffiti again]

•At school she cant stop the feeling

[Sitting in class. Nervous look. Front view.]

•Nor does her own bed give her the rest she needs

[Laying in bed. Eyes open.]

•[turns an lays on side]

•And though her mothers try to help

[her moms talking to her in the living room (butterfly picture on wall)]

•She can't fight that feeling.

[looks away a little]

•The feeling of butterflies in her gut.

[clutches stomach]
