Serenity walked into the elmtree house behind all the kids who were having some type of conversation with someone
Serenity couldn't help but wish she had great friends like they did
Some might say she had the better end of the stick since she has a mom, a grandma ,a granddad and siblings but that's just from an outsiders pov
When in all honesty even with people around she always felt like she was alone
Her mom didn't hesitate to say yes to her living with her grandmother for a while but took her younger sister and brother to Jamaica with her for a vacation
She was the middle child of 5 she had older sisters but the moved out with each other once they became of age leaving her and her little siblings
Which caused serenity to become their mother figure since her mom was always working to provide for herself and her children but even with renity knowing that information it didn't stop her from despising the fact that she worked alot
Plus serenity was kinda the outcast at school she didn't have much friends actually she didn't have friends at all it didn't bother her at first until she hit the age of 10 and realized everyone else had friends but her
That caused her to feel even more alone feeling as if her only purpose was to take care of her siblings and make her mom happy
it was bittersweet for her...on one hand she was happy because she got to bond with her siblings but on the other hand she hated the fact that she felt that she had to take care of them or they wouldn't be alright even tho she knew they would be well taken care of she still could shake the feeling that they would feel abandoned also
While serenity was reminiscing on her life liam noticed her silence and staring off into space..before he could walk over and see if she was okay gus walked over with his notebook
"Serenity i have some questions for you that you have to answer" gus said sitting down next to her

"Okay?" I answered slightly confused and awkwardly as to why he was talking to me since he rarely payed me attention all car ride here
"I'm gus" he introduced "but you already knew that" he stated furrowing his eyebrows "yea I did but don't sweat it" I said patting the seat beside me "why would I sweat?" He asked confused "you know what forget it"
"So why'd you get arrested?" He asked curiously sitting down "I don't even know to be totally honest" I answer truthfully
"You have to know why" he stated frustrated
"I'm sorry but I wasn't really informed why" I said feeling bad
"Gus just ask her another question she said she didn't know" sapphire said standing next to him
"Fine, why'd you leave America?" He asked getting ready to write the answer down "my grandmother wanted me to come" I answered
"Why isn't your mom here?" He asked "she's in Jamaica with my siblings for "work" and a vacation"
"What about your dad" "I don't know him much"
"Do you have any allergies" "Not that I know of"
"Are you sick" "Nope"
"Have any sicknesses we need to know about?" "Nope"
"Anything contagious?" "Other than my smile nope" "That was corny" "I know..sorry"
"Gus leave her alone" tracy said walking into the room
"No it's fine I don't mind" i stated smiling since I actually enjoyed the company
"How tall are you?"
"Gus" tracy said in a warning voice "she said it's fine" he replied annoyed that he kept getting cut off
"Guys gather around please" gina said with a smile on her face
causing everyone but serenity to stop what they were doing and walk up to Gina paying attention to her like she asked
"you too serenity" she said once she realized the brown skin girl didn't gather around with them "oh sorry" she said getting up standing next to sapphire
"Okay so we were planning on taking you lots to the mall and maybe to the park after like you've all been asking" she said smiling as everyone but serenity cheered
"Okay okay quite down guys" Gina said after a minute of letting them express her excitement
"Finally" gus said once everyone shut up "the reason why me and mike decided to reward you all is because you've all did your chores properly and on time without being told " she explained smiling
"I told you it'll pay off" Carmen said to Tia nudging her while smiling
"Oh and everyone be ready in the next hour so we can get there before the crowd" she said before walking out
The kids cheered while running off their separate ways trying to hurry and get ready so they could all leave on time
Serenity sighed as she sat in the game room alone before deciding to finally call her mom
"Excuse me mike um may I use your phone" I asked a little embarrassed about this entire situation
"Of course its right in that room" he said pointing to his office "thanks" I said beg walking away
I stood there with the phone in my hand trying to remember my moms number
Every time I thought I finally got it some random person would call "for fucks sake please work" I said to myself dailing the number once more but changing the last 2 numbers
"Hello?" "Mommy hey" "Oh hey ren why are you calling me on a unmarked number? Where's your phone?"
"Oh I don't even know but um I was calling to tell you grandma kicked me out and I got arrested" "Are you actually serious serenity?" She asked disappointedly "Yeah but I'm safe I'm at a home for kids for right now but um when can I come home?" I asked feeling my eyes tear up
"I don't know serenity but what's the address so I can mail you a phone " she said sighing
"Yes ma'am"
I got off the phone with her leaning my head back as tears came down my face
