Reader is a bounty hunter who gets shot by Crosshair while trying to escape with something the Batch is after. After making sure she'll live, Hunter imprisons her on the Marauder and puts Crosshair on guard duty. She accompanies them to different planets, but isn't allowed to leave the ship unless Hunter says so. During that time, she tries to strike up conversations with Crosshair to keep herself from going stir-crazy. After a while, they actually begin to enjoy each other's company. It turns out they have more in common than they originally thought.
