Alina's pov
I was finally ready. A mini skirt and denim jacket worked just like I expected. I kept the colors a bit bright and fun, and fabrics comfortable. To match, I picked a black pair of low heels, sunglasses, and a watch which seemed like the perfect relaxed accessory additions to this outfit.
I took a last look in the mirror, spraying some hairspray to keep my hair secure in the low ponytail.
"Talk about taking the whole day to get ready." The male voice sounded behind me.
I frowned, turning my gaze in his direction. "I have been ready for a while now, you're the one that was lost."
"Yeah , sure."
"You're being cold again."
I could hear him sigh before footsteps approached me. His musky cologne grazed my nostrils as he was just a few inches away. He gently held my face, looking down into my eyes. "You're looking beautiful." He said, which had nothing to do with my words earlier but his eyes had me too intoxicated to even move a single muscle in my body.
And before i could register anything else, I felt him pull me into his torso as his lips came crashing onto mine eagerly.

Taehyung pushed the transparent door that would be leading us into the beautiful shop. Everything of the shop's aesthetics screamed vintage, there were beautiful wooden chairs and tables where customers sat calmly sipping their coffees. The walls were decorated with paintings that looked like they should've cost fortunes and they reminded me of the ones Taehyung has in his room. The strong smell of roasted coffee beans tickled my nostril and gave me a sense of calmness.
I was still lost in my own world, taking in the environment until I felt Taehyung's arm snaking around my waist and he leaned down to whisper in my ear. "There they are." His eyes gestured at the table where three people who seemed to be of our age, giggling and talking.
His arms pulled me closer as we neared his friends. "Hey." He called out as we were just two steps away and their faces lit up upon seeing him.
All my insecurities resurfaced as I wondered to myself if they all knew how Taehyung's relationship with me is and what opinion they all hold regarding me.
I smiled back as they all looked at me with soft expressions and Taehyung started introducing me. "This is Ansel, she's Abby and here is the funniest one, Somia."
Before Taehyung could close off the introduction, the one named Somia jumped up and hugged me. "Tae told us a lot about you." She beamed with a bright smile, making me feel welcome and less insecure. "You know he's a total simp for you.'' She continued and the others just chuckled softly.
I didn't know how to react, heat travelled to my face and I was concerned. I didn't want to make a fool out of myself by glowing like a tomato.
Taehyung smiled and took my hand, bowing his head to Abby. "You exposed me, Happy?" He chuckled. "Now let's take a seat and then you can tell her everything."
He pulled the chair for me before helping me settle down and took a seat himself. We could hear some chatter in the background once in a while but it wasn't disturbing and our conversations were moving forward smoothly.
"The next time he makes you cry, just contact me and I shall pull him on his ear," Ansel finally spoke, earning a chuckle from the group while I just smiled softly. He was a lot like Taehyung, just like Taehyung had told me. They've known each other for more than five years and their friendship is just heartwarming.
I sat there while listening, face neutral. One mistake and everything was finished. Even Though Taehyung and his friends did their best to make me feel welcomed, my stomach kept twisting and turning cause I was afraid of messing something up. I wanted them to like me, accept me.
Hearing them talk, I realised how different our worlds were. I knew I would never fit in.
I was too indulged into my own thoughts at a point that I wasn't even aware of my surroundings until I felt a cold hand on my thigh, Taehyung. "Are you okay, baby?" He whispered in my ears. I nodded, looking into his eyes briefly. "I think we should get some coffee already." He spoke again, his voice louder this time followed by a genuine laugh.
They all agreed and started discussing what each person would drink and who would place the order.
"What will you have?" Taehyung asked, locking eyes with me.
"Caramel Macchiato.''
Ansel, who sat on my left, chuckled softly, looking to the side. "What a coincidence. Do you also like Caramel Macchiato?" He asked, propelling his fingers throw his long brown locks.
"Yes." I smiled, looking at him. It may sound stupid but i was happy that I finally had something in common with them.
His eyes brightened, like one of a kid and he beamed. "I like you already." I knew he meant in the friendliest way but i am pretty sure i looked like a deer caught in headlights. Ofcourse I had to embarrass myself.
"Abby, I don't think they have your favourite pasta." Taehyung joked before breaking into a fit of laughter, so did the others.
I just admired this side of him, he was nothing like the Taehyung i have known for the past months.
"You know she eats some weird tomato sauce with cheese and calls it pasta." He looked at my slightly confused face, trying to contain his laughter as he explained the joke to me. "Literally on a spoon."
I placed my hands over my lips to not laugh indecently or offend Abby but she had joined the others in the laughing fest too.

It didn't take more than half an hour before a young lady with blond hair, wearing an apron around her waist, brought us our coffees. She looked beautiful, pale skin. Actually everyone here, including Taehyung, they are perfect. Ever since I moved here, people have made me feel insecure cause of the smallest things. My skin tone leans more to the olive side but I love it cause it shows that I have a part of my mother in me.
I have worked on myself, taught myself how to ignore those insecurities that people gifted me but they resurface so easily. The way the waitress is looking at Taehyung, the smile he gave her back, all of this annoys me. She is prettier? Better?
"Alani?" I snapped back to reality as Ansel's concerned voice asked for my attention. Then only I realized, I completed crumbled the menu template. "Are you okay?" He continued.
"Yeah, just feeling slightly suffocated in here."
"Wanna go out? Take some fresh air, I can give you company for a few minutes."
I looked over at Taehyung but he was still talking to the waitress. The look she gave him, screamed how much she wanted him. "I'll be fine, I don't wanna be a bother."
"No way. I wanted to go out for a smoke anyway." He smiled, pulling out the little packet and I stood up.
