Chapter 5

"Chris- I didn't know you had a girlfriend."

"Oh uhm Mom she's not-"

"Hey. I'm Ryland."

"Nice to meet you dear. Chris can I talk to you?"

"And I think that's my cue. I'll text you later."

"Alright, see you later."

"Chris? Since when were you in a relationship?"

"It's uh more recent."

"Did you two know about this?"

Matt and Nick both nod their heads.

"She seems like a sweet girl but if she-"

"Don't worry mom. I've got it under control."

"Alright. You better head out to her car before she leaves."

"Right-" Chris runs out the door to my car.

"I'm sorry about my mom."

"What do you mean? She seems super sweet."

"I mean she kinda.."

I chuckle a bit and I get out of my car.

"Hey uhm.. Ryland.. do you wanna.. like stay?"

"I would love to, but I don't know if I can stay for too long. I've got an essay to finish."

"Alright, let's just watch a movie."

Chris takes my hand and we go back into the house. We sit on the couch. We start watch the bee movie which was obviously Chris's choice. He laid his head on my lap while I played with his hair.

"Hey Ryland."

"Hm?"

"Dont you have to go?" He sits up next to me.

I look at the time. "Who said I wanted to go yet?" I put my head on his shoulder.

Chris smiles ,wraps his arm around my waist and kisses the top of my head.

"Nick, do you think they'll be okay?"

"It seems like it. Just wait till mom finds out that Chris's new girlfriend will be able to drink next year."

Matt and Nick walking into the room.

"Can we watch the movie with you guys?" Nick asked.

"Sure! The more the merrier!" I smile and let them sit next to us.
