The streets of New York buzzed with life and excitement. Though it was far from the truth, a mask for the real dangers occurring, it was comforting. The skyscrapers kept getting taller, more advanced. That meant more security. Nothing I couldn't handle. I strutted down the streets and saw the shiny, black Porsche. I smirked, if I do my job, that car will become a part of my collection. The cars of my victims are always nicer than mine.

As I walked closer, I noticed a couple of customizations, the booster seat in the back and an assortment of Sippy cups and toys in the front. He had a kid with him. As I came to this conclusion I heard a small whimper, only to turn around and see a small child being shielded by a man in his mid-30s. It all happened so quickly; all I knew was that I couldn't do it. I had him pinned to the ground, yet I couldn't find it in me the finish the job, to stop him from living. Maybe it was the child that was present the pale little girl with scraped knees and tears running down her face. I needed to get out of there now. I see a group of tourists up ahead; I'll slip into that group and pretend I was never here.

It was hot for the night. Living in Australia did have its benefits but, God, the weather was not one of them. It's Sunday night, all of the little rats of my neighbourhood have calmed down, stopped making so much noise. The cars have all stopped. It was a day of peace. Until my mother walked in, she was reckless with herself, with me. She said she couldn't help it, but she also refused to parent me. I reminded her too much of dad or something. Mum walked over to the table and set down the pizza she had bought me for dinner, I lurked in the shadows behind her waiting to pounce. For once she was my prey.

I pinned her down and stabbed her. The shock was pulsating through my body, as well as the adrenaline. I stood from her scrawny frame now splayed across the floor and pulled the knife from her jugular. One of the bodies major arteries. Biology class really did pay off. I'm stopped in the middle of my inner monologue when an array of blue, red, and white flashing lights peep through the curtains. They were slightly opened. The colours blended to make an eery lilac colour. I think it suited this situation.
