Cleopatra's death

-What the-

Changbin woke up in a small unknown room. He was on the floor next to the others.

-Guys! he yelled to catch their attention. Do any of you remember what happened?

-Felix! Chan jumped in realisation. The ice cracked.

-Hyunjin must have done this, Jeongin added.

-At least we know Felix is alive. For as long as Hyunjin keeps him, Chan completed. So where are we?

-In my trap, Minho said sternly. Or should I say riddle?

They all looked around and spotted a drawing on each wall and four doors.

-That's it? We just need to choose the right door? Changbin asked confused.

-It can't be that easy, Seungmin replied. Pretty sure death is waiting for us behind three of the doors. Have any idea, Your Highness?

-That's Cleopatra, he said pointing to the drawing in front of him. Behind Jisung is Bastet. Next to the wolf is the eye of Horus. And Anubis... I can't see any link between them.

Jisung didn't hear most of the conversation. He just stared at the drawing on the wall until he felt a strong vibration.

He backed off and saw the wall moving closer to him.

He went to Minho and nudged him.

-The wall is moving, he whispered.

Minho looked around and noticed how the room was significantly smaller.

-Shit! Jisung is right. We are gonna be crushed in here like bugs.

-Great way to die, Seungmin commented.

-Seungmin, shut up! Minho shouted activating his ability.

The yeti tried to say something, but his lips moved without a sound.

-Couldn't do that earlier? Jeongin asked.

-We should go to the cat lady. She seems harmless, Chan suggested.

-That's Bastet. Some sources assumed her and Anubis were lovers. And since Anubis is the God of Death, I wouldn't recommend going through that door, Minho replied studying carefully the Egyptian symbols.

-What about Horus? Jeongin asked. I don't see any harm in it. The God of sky.

-But Cleopatra is the only human among these gods. Isn't that weird? Changbin chimed in.

-Didn't she die because of a snake? I guess that runs in the family, Jeongin nudged Minho's elbow.

Nevertheless, Minho was focused on his riddle. Trying to guess the meaning of the room.

The walls were coming closer and the time was running out. But he couldn't risk 6 lives on his guessing.

Suddenly he felt a hand tapping on his shoulder. He turned around and saw Jisung looking at him.

-Trust your intuition, he said.

Minho's expression softened. He nodded, then looked around one last time.

-Hyunjin wants us dead, right? he began explaining.

-Right... I guess he made it clear when he sent the whole ghost army to kill us, Jeongin said.

-Then why would he give us a way out? Why would he give us a safe path back?

-Are you saying that...

-Every door has death behind it, he cut off Changbin. We need to choose the death we can survive.

-Then take Horus, Jeongin insisted.

-That's not Horus, Minho replied confidently. That's the story of Isis and Osiris. Their son was Horus. Remember the legend? Osiris's corpse was tore into 14 pieces. I don't think you would want that.

-Then which door? And hurry! Jeongin said trying to hold the walls from moving.

-This one! he said pointing to Cleopatra.

-Really? You choose the venom?

-Yeah! Trust me!

He opened the door and got into the dark room. They all followed him without questioning.

Changbin used his fire to light the room and froze in his spot when he saw the snake in front of him.

The snaked jumped to attack, but Jisung stopped him.

-Pablo? he asked aback.

-Why is your snake trying to attack us? Changbin asked shaking of shock. Jisung? he asked when he received no answer.

He tried to out his hand on his shoulder, but then Minho pushed him out of the way.

When Changbin opened his eyes, he saw Jisung trying to bite Minho's arms.

The latter pushed Jisung into the wall while his fangs were sinking deeper into the older's skin.

-I knew he was no good, Seungmin finally spoke.

-Is not his fault. The toxins in this room affects him. He is just scared. Help me get him out of here!

Chan took Jisung on his shoulder while Minho hold his hand to be bitten by Jisung.

At the end of the tunnel, they reached the library again. Jisung let go of Minho's hand looked around blinking in confusion.

Chan let him down while Minho was squirming in pain.

-Wouldn't that much venom kill you? Jeongin asked intrigued of why was Minho still alive.

-Not me. But still hurts, he smiled. I'll go clean it, he said before going upstairs.

Minho knew the risks of the room, yet he chose it because he could take the venom. He knew he could protect the others and mostly Jisung. The others would have killed him.

At least his mother's training was of use in the end...

Jisung felt so guilty that he followed him to apologize.

When he entered the room he caught a glimpse of Minho taking his bandages off of his chest.

On his back were countless scars and bite marks of snakes.

Jisung's eyes widen. He tried to go back, but he stumbled and fell on the floor.

Minho turned around and rushed to help him stand up. Jisung could see Minho's exposed chest.

It wasn't right. It didn't feel right.

Minho just smiled at him and took the bandages to wrap them around his arm.

Jisung stepped closer and offered to tie the material for him.

His eyes were moving from Minho's chest to his arm then up to his face, their breaths mixing.

Their eyes locked and Jisung's face heated up.

-How is your hearing? he said genuinely concerned.

Jisung read his lips and understood the question, but he was ashamed to admit he didn't know how to use the regeneration.

-Same, he replied.

-I'm sure we are gonna find a way to help you. And even not...I can learn sign language. I studied so many books. What's one more? he joked.

Jisung almost smiled at that joke.

Minho really tried to hold himself back, but something kept telling him to go for it.

Just lean slowly. Just do it.

He wanted to kiss Jisung so much, but the moment their faces got closer, Jisung started trembling.

He remembered how the Minho from the mirror tried to rape him and felt sick.

He stepped back and ran out of the room, leaving Minho clueless of what he did.
