Sarah took a drink of her lemonade, while typing away at the laptop in front of her with a pen and notebook to the side. She sat in an open air café enjoying the cool May air.

It had been 10 years since she wished away her brother Toby and ran the Labyrinth. She had grown into a beautiful woman with long black hair, large green eyes and fair skin with a spattering of freckles on her nose. She still kept in contact with the friends she made in the Labyrinth. Even through college she made a point of at least calling them through mirrors at least once a week. When she started college she majored in Drama and Theater but after starring in a couple plays, she quickly realized that while she loved the theater she preferred to watching the play or helping backstage rather than acting in it. Acting didn't bring the same magical effect it did when she was younger, especially after experiencing real magic. It also didn't help that Linda Williams, her father's ex-wife, tried to boost her own stardom by trying to force Sarah to share a spotlight with her or pushed her to take roles she didn't want because the producer was famous or tried to set her up with people who Linda believed would help advance her own career. She had already found the adoption papers in a lockbox under her dads desk about 2 years after the Labyrinth. She had felt hurt for a little bit but quickly realized how much her Father loved her and she loved him. That was enough for her so she said nothing to her Father, plus she really didn't like how her so called mother acted around her and her Dad, like they owed her something.

So she cut all ties with her so called mother and moved on with her life. She changed her major to English and Mythology and started focusing on writing stories that brought magic to herself and other. Her stories got published and a few even got turned into plays. The money from her stories and scholarships helped pay for her college and she had graduated about a month ago. Now she was trying to figure out her next step in her life.

So, here she was in a open air café, finishing her latest story before emailing it to her publisher. Once that was done, she closed her laptop and started slowly drinking her cold lemonade while contemplating her life.

She was so deep in her thoughts she was startled when someone sat down across from her. She glanced up and felt great annoyance at seeing her ex across from her smirking.

"Caleb," She said icily "what do you want?"

Caleb's smirk grew and not noticing the ice in her voice said " I wanted to talk. I've missed you, Sarah."

Sarah's eyes hardened " We have nothing to talk about. Leave now while I still am being nice about it."

Caleb reached out and grabbed her hand hard "Come on, I know you miss me. I also know you still want me. Give me another chance."

Sarah tried to wrench her hand free. People were starting to look at them. He held her hand so tight it was probably going to bruise. Getting angry, Sarah grabbed her pen and jabbed him with enough force he let her go.

She stood up and started gathering her things as he shook out his hand. Caleb started angrily yelling "You witch, How dare...."

Sarah turned her steely gaze on him and grabbing her drink, she poured it on his head effectively shutting him up. Silence reigned in the café as everyone stared at them.

Sarah spoke in a voice everyone heard " I told you, in no uncertain terms, I never wanted to see you again. Especially after finding out you cheated on me."

Everyone in the café turned their eyes to Caleb. His face turned scarlet in embarrassment. He stood quickly as Sarah started leaving reaching out a hand to stop her, when he tripped and crashed into a neighboring table. Caleb fell to the floor bringing the food on the table with him. The whole café started laughing as the people who's lunch ended up on the floor told Caleb that he needed to reimburse their lunch he ruined.

Sarah looked on in amusement and from the corner of her eye she saw movement. Turning her head, she saw two goblins under a different table grinning mischievously at the mess they made. When they noticed her looking, they grinned and waved at her before disappearing into thin air.

Sarah smiled and shook her head. Since her run in the Labyrinth, she had seen more and more mystical creatures. Fairies in flower gardens, brownies in her kitchen and of course goblins who seemed to follow her, making mischief for those around her. She started to walk to her car as people in the café kept Caleb busy.
