Toby Williams was dancing around his living room. He was so happy since his older sister was coming to his birthday party this Saturday. Since she went to college he barely saw her anymore. They called each other and Facetimed as often as Sarah's busy life allowed.
When Sarah decided to quit acting and started writing stories, Toby became her biggest supporter. Any book she published he advertised it around his school. Sarah's writings became more and more popular in his school. Toby couldn't be anymore happier. He even read her stories to the goblins that were his friends, they even took a few books back with them saying the others would enjoy them. Her stories often featured some of the fantastical creatures she met in the Labyrinth. Though his favorite was the adaptation of her run through the Labyrinth after wishing him away.
He had shared that book with Hoggle, Sir Didymus and Ludo. Hoggle grumpily swore that she didn't do him justice making him seem so grouchy and said with vehemence that he wouldn't have ever betrayed her if The Goblin King hadn't have threatened him with the bog of eternal stench. Sir Didymus was quite happy with his portrayal in the story. Proclaiming loudly that Sarah had captured his Knightly Honor perfectly, while also saying that Sarah should have put in a epilogue of how he honorably and chivalrously courted his fox goblin wife, Dulce. Ludo had just grinned goofily and said in his loud voice "Sawah good friend. Rocks also think Sawah good friend."
Toby then cheekily asked them if the Goblin King actually did like Sarah as it was portrayed in the book.
Hoggle had clapped a hand over Sir Didymus' mouth before exclaiming loudly "Jareth is a rat. Youse can't trust a word hes say."
Hoggle then proceeded to drag Sir Didymus to the mirror while calling Ludo to come as well since they needed to get back to work before they ended up in the bog. It wasn't until after they left he realized the book about The Labyrinth was gone. He grinned knowing they had taken it but guessing who hands it would actually end up in made his grin wider.
Back at the present, Toby had been pulled from his joyful dancing when his mom had started yelling frantically on the phone. He stilled as fear took over him, when a small hand pulled his arm he jumped.
Looking down he saw his partner in crime goblin, Pipsqueak affectionately called Squeaky. Squeaky looked at him with sadness and determination "Lady in trouble. Young heir must wish goblins to Lady."
Toby had tears in his eyes and his voice cracked " I can't. I promised Sarah I would never wish anyone away to the goblins."
Squeaky shook his head, his giant ears flopping like a dogs "Not wish Lady away. Wish goblins to Lady to protect."
Toby's eyes widened in understanding. "I wish the Goblins would go protect my sister right now!" He cried.
Squeak disappeared immediately and Toby ran to the kitchen where his mom was animatedly talking to the 911 operator telling them to get an ambulance to her daughters location now. Luckily, Karen was able to tell them exactly where Sarah was due to Sarah's phones GPS location.
After Karen hung up she told Toby to grab a jacket and shoes and to go to the car while she called his father. Toby raced and grabbed the items. He then sprinted to the car and flung himself into the backseat. Once buckled he listened as his Mother called his Father while starting the car. Telling her husband that Sarah was in a accident and that he should meet them at the hospital that Sarah would be taken to.
Getting off the phone, Karen focused on driving, her knuckles white on the steering wheel. Thinking of the girl, she views as a daughter, thinking of the promise made to her friend about protecting Sarah. She hoped she wasn't too late and her promise would remain unbroken.
