kizzy bolted up Evelyn's stairs, and into her room.
they opened the door, only to be met with Evelyn sitting with her guitar
"you said you'd see me when i'm home for the summer" she sang, strumming her guitar lightly
kizzy stood in the doorway, listening intently
parts of the song, Evelyn just began to hum, not knowing what to put there
"what if you put something at the beginning" kizzy said, making Evelyn jump
"what do you mean?" kizzy sat next to her, pointing to the blank beginning on her paper
"try putting like, something so they don't know it's about kit"
"you know it's about kit?"
"i know all" Evelyn laughed, jotting something down
"we started getting close"
kizzy nodded at the lyric
"freshman year, when all our friends were smoking cigarettes"
FLASHBACK
Evelyn sat in the middle of this casting party, kizzy and cormac left her to go mingle with new people
she didn't know what to do
everyone around her was vaping, and smoking
she hated the second hand smoke her head was feeling
"you wanna get out of here? you seem light headed" Evelyn looked up, locking eyes with a tall blonde boy
cormac told her, this was kit Connor, playing nick nelson
she would usually feel uneasy about walking out with a stranger
but with kit she didn't
and she didn't know why
"yeah" she smiled, standing up.
as kit and evelyn walked out, she spotted cormac with his girlfriend alice, and kizzy with corrina.
Evelyn turned towards kit and off they went
two am, driving around town, laughing, and getting to know eachother
"i had fun kit" Evelyn said, unbuckling her seatbelt
kit bolted out of the car to open her door.
"i had fun too, here, call me soon and we can do it again yeah?" kit walked her to the door.
Cormac got out of his car quietly next door, watching the two of them
"i'd like that kit" she smiled, handing him her phone
he put his name as "kit<3"
Evelyn shook her head
"no sir" quickly, the girl changed it
"KitKat🫶"
kit laughed, "i'll see you later Evelyn Ivy"

"you should at least talk to him" kizzy said
"i do miss him a lot"
kizzy sat for a minute
"something else happened that night didn't it" kizzy asked, holding her hand
kizzy knew about the kiss

but that's not what she thought Evelyn was hiding
"we fought, because he told me he cared about me and if i left town i was leaving him for good"
Evelyn took a deep breath
"and then he kissed me and," kizzy looked her in the eye
"we just kept kissing, and then I ran, I couldn't do it, I couldn't face him. I left without saying goodbye, and telling him how I feel and now he thinks i hate him and-"
kizzy held her shoulders, "Evelyn, you need to talk to him"
"kizzy he told me he loved me"
