꧁Chapter Twenty~Three꧂

After a short walk we arrive at a neighborhood with rows and rows of brick houses,all lined up perfectly. I look at each of the houses seeing that they look like exact copies from being made of brick to the white pillars in front of each house. Peter slips his hand into mine and waits to see how I respond.When I give his hand a small squeeze he starts walking forward towards his home. We walk into the house that has a small flower garden in front of the porch.
We walk in and are greeted by a woman somewhere in her mid 50's
" Where have you been Peter ? " but before Peter could even open his mouth to answer we started fading.
This time around I was immediately sent into the bubble instead of turning into a child. I turn around to watch the scene that was unfolding in front of me it was a 4 year old Peter standing in front of a man with grey hair and glasses. The kid looks up at the man completely confused.
" You're going to be staying here with your aunt and uncle for a little while. " The man pauses as he looks up from the ground to face the still confused child.Peter insists on going with them but the man declines before pulling Peter towards the door where his wife, Peters mom, is standing.
After a teary goodbye they walk out the door leaving behind a confused child and an equally concerned couple.
When I open my eyes once more I see that I have woken up in the middle of a high school corridor. I look around trying to see if I can find Peter but instead I'm approached by a tall blonde guy with a buzz cut.
" Hey Y/N, you able to tutor me later  ? " He asks as he looks down at me. I nod my head before slamming my locker shut and walking off to the first class on my schedule. I sit through 4 lectures before the relief of lunch came. I walked to the outside tables hoping to see Peter but hes nowhere to be seen so I sit down at one of the tables and pull out a book to entertain myself.
All of a sudden I hear a commotion coming from a group of tables behind me so I turn to look and see that the blonde guy from earlier is holding up a freshman.
I head over to the group in hopes of making the blonde leave the other kid alone but before I can he turn his attention elsewhere.
" Hey, Parker take the photo. " He yells over at the scrawny brunette who's making his way through the crowd. Peter shakes his head
" Put him down Flash. "  the blonde doesn't listen and continues to insist on Peter taking the photo and once Peter declines again he  throws down the boy he was holding, Gordon , and shifts his attention onto Peter.
Peter slowly starts making his way to ensure that Gordon is fine but before he can get near, Flash gives him a quick right hook, which knocks him to the ground.

" Come on get up Parker ! " but as soon a he does, he's meet with another blow to his stomach and after seeing him get kicked in the stomach I believe hes finally done but instead he gives a snarky retort.
" I'm still not taking the picture. "
I let out a snort before breaking my way through the crowd to get to the center. The crowd is still hyping up Flash until he turns around to face me and then they all fall silent.
" We still on for after school today, " I say cocking my head to the side.
" My house, 3:30 " He nods before turning to face the ground with sad puppy eyes.
" I'm very disappointed in you " I say in the most passive aggressive tone I can pull off before sending him to class. Once the crowd disperses I turn back and make my way to help Peter who is still laying on the ground.
As I approach him, he lifts himself up from the ground onto his elbows.
" I could of fought him myself, you know. " He says as he looks up at me.
" You're pretty cocky for someone with a black eye, "
He chuckles at my response while I pull my backpack off my shoulders before kneeling next to him. I pull out a cold water bottle from my lunch box  and hand it to Peter. He looks at me puzzled until I point at my eye, once he gets it he moves to place the cold bottle on the newly formed bruise. Just like that I fade out.
Before I can get time to relax I start shifting back into Peter's universe. This time I'm standing in the middle of what I assume to be a science lab because of the white coat I'm wearing. I turn around and I'm meet with a group of students who are waiting for a tour so I quickly read over the notes that are on the clipboard in my hand. Once I reviewed them I start leading the group towards the lab. When we enter the lab I point out some of the different areas before leading them to meet the head scientist.
" This is " but before I can finish introducing him, he does it for me.
" Dr.Conner, Dr.Curtis Conner, Welcome to Oscorp." After he introduces himself the group of students claps before Dr.Conner starts explaining more about himself and the work they do.
As he finishes explaining we hear someone from the back of the group ask a question
" Cross~Species Genetics ? " I look up to see that it is Peter so I turn to look at attendance sheet to see if he was on it but of course he was not. The more Peter explains the more entranced Dr.Conner becomes.
" And you are ? " When those words leave Dr.Conner's mouth, Peter turns to look at me as if his mind had gone completely blank.
" He's one of Midtown's best scientists " Dr Conner turns to me, raising his eyebrows as if beckoning me to go on. " Second best. " He turns to look back at Peter seeming quite surprised but of course Peter doesn't seemed satisfied with the position I gave him.
" Second best, You sure ? " He asks me in a slightly condescending tone. I nod my head before responding
" Yep, I'm sure. " After our little banter Dr.Conner departs from the group, leaving me to lead the group back outside. As the people walk out I make sure to cross off all the people as they walk out but just then I realize that Peter had not left yet so after the last person leaves I make my way back inside to find him.
