"Well, your heartbeat is strong, the pulse is good and your brain activity is normal," Hank said as he looked at the readings on one of the medical bay's computers that read my vitals that was set up in the new compound.
"But I'm gonna take another look at your genetic reading," Hank sighed looking puzzled at the screen in front of him. I knew that tone of voice, that confusion and uncertainty, I had heard it many times before, so I peeked into his head clearly seeing his thoughts of question.
"What can't be right?" I spoke up making Hank turn to face me with a slightly annoyed expression.
"Are you reading my mind without permission, has no one ever told you not to?"
"Your thoughts are loud," I explained craning my head to look at the screen full of lines and numbers, "so what can't be right?"
"Well," Hank started scratching his head while he continued to look at the numbers to understand them, "whatever happened in the room, it made you stronger and the weird part is that I've seen this happen before, with your mother,"
"Your mother's power readings were strong but your's is way off the charts, breaking them even, I've never seen anything this high before especially in a long time," he continued to explain still completely baffled by the readings being produced.
"And what exactly does that mean?" I asked.
"It means um...it means you've literally broken the machine and we have to get a new one because this isn't my property," He laughed but his laughter didn't remain for long as his face went back to one of concentration.
"But how do you feel, really?" he said turning to face me and removing the blood pressure monitor from my arm and the many other medical devices he had placed on me.
"I feel fine," I replied which probably sounded strange for someone who had almost got roasted to death.
"Good," Hank shook his head slightly looking back at the screens, "well, as far as I can tell, you good to go and now you are free,"
"Great," I smiled hoping off the examination bed to grab my jacket and the few weapons I had disregarded for the check-up, "thanks, Hank,"
I turned to walk out of the room before a thought came to my mind causing me to turn back around, "Hank? Would you mind telling my mum about this? If I tell her she won't believe me,"
He smiled and waved me off, "No problem,"

"Did Hank really say that?" Bucky with his feet separated on the ground and elbows resting on his thighs questioned me on the checkup while I changed from my suit to something more comfortable. He did well to hide his worry, though by his tone I could tell he was still concerned despite the fact that I had reassured him more than twenty times already that I was completely fine.
"Yeah, he did," I replied taking off my jacket and throwing it into the wardrobe smiling back to settle him more, "if you wanna ask him then go ahead,"
"No, I believe you,"
"Are you sure?" I said playfully strolling up to him as he stood up from his sitting position, "or are you just a little intimidated that I'm stronger than you?"
"Oh yeah, I definitely am, always have been" he replied as I pulled him into a passionate kiss. Our lips moved in sync for a while but before anything went further Bucky pulled away and my brows knitted together waiting for a response.
"Are you sure you're okay?" he whispered, our foreheads touching as he looked directly into my eyes as if he was searching for something wrong, but unfortunately for him, he wasn't going to find anything.
