The plan was in motion and everyone had been split into groups.  Lower rank cadets stayed by the wall to lure titans away from Eren, and high ranked cadets had the dangerous mission. Leading Eren down a safe path to the hold was our main priority. 

I later found out that one of the women leading an operations group was named Rico, the girl who saved me in Shiganshina a few years back. I couldn't believe I was actually working with her. Being pulled from my thoughts, Rico's squad signaled their departure and rounded the area, attempting to stay clear of any threats.

We stood alert atop of the wall, looking into the distance for Eren's signal. "There it is." The shifter pointed towards a red flare. Bearing the edge, Eren murdered, "Wish me luck."

Using his ODM gear, Eren flung himself towards the heavy boulder.  Mikasa inhaled and ruffled her hair, "I'll be leaving as well.." With a small smile.

With a heavy heart, Armin sent her off  "Stay safe Mikasa." And she followed Eren.

"Armin.." I turned to face the blonde, "Will this really work?"

Sighing, Armin replied, "I hope so.."
Just then, a flash of golden light shone brightly. I covered my eyes and peeked through. Inside of the lingering cloud of smoke stood a newly transformed titan.  Squinting, I could faintly see Mikasa standing on a rooftop beside him.

Suddenly, Eren aggressively lunged towards Mikasa. Punching at her much smaller figure, his titan fist almost crushed her.

A yellow flare flew into the air, it was Rico. She was trying to alert everyone the mission had failed.

"What the hell?" I stopped in my tracks. "He's going crazy, Armin.. The mission can't be called off, let's go!" I nudged the blonde forward.

Armin gasped, "What are we gonna do-"

"We're gonna try to fix Eren."

Minutes had passed and Eren's rampage knocked himself out.
I trusted Armin with the takes of bringing him back to us while I examined Mikasa.

"I'm fine Y/N.." she tried walking past me but I pleaded for her to stop.

"Mikasa, you have a cut, he hurt you.."  My fingers grazed the slit on her cheek, but she didn't flinch.

"I'm okay, I swear." Mikasa reassured while glancing over me. "Eren's knocked out, the plan.."

"It's up to Armin no-" I held my head as an ear splitting roar shook the perimeter.

Mikasa shouted to Armin, "You stabbed him!?" Armin couldn't speak as he was holding on to his still inserted blade for dear life. He released his anchors from Eren's back and flew towards us.

"Sorry, he seems fine though.." He scratched his head an gave Mikasa a apologetic look, "Time to see if it worked."

Eren's titan slouched over and quickly sprouted up again. His green eyes twitched and landed on us. I nervously stared back thinking he would attack, but he didn't. A disappointed look could be seen through Eren's titan..He was back, but he knew what happened, he knew he hurt Mikasa.

I shook my head, batting away any other thoughts, "Eren!" The titan looked at me as I continued, "Rico almost called off the mission, so if you can carry the boulder, let's hurry."

With a loud stomp Eren turned towards the boulder and knelt down.
"Oh my god.." Armin muttered

"What's wrong?" I asked, facing the blonde.

He quivered, "Everyone is..dying." Just as Armin said, blood dressed the streets like a ruby gown. The familiar, metallic scent was everywhere. As titans seemed to disregard the cadets near the walls.

"They're getting closer and killing everyone in their path!" I gasped.

"Eren.." Mikasa uttered for the first time in a while, "They're coming for Eren"

Armin sighed, "Let's get him to the hole before the titans advance any further."

On the other side of Trost, Reiner and Bertholdt stood chatting atop of a roof.

"Reiner-!"

"Lower your voice Bert.." Reiner hushed the taller male.

He huffed and continued in a weaker tone, "Are we really going to let them plug the hole we opened? Can't we stop them?"

"No, we already acquired the information needed for this mission, and it will look suspicious if we did anything.." Reiner shook his head.

Bertholdt ruffled his hair in frustration, "I see your point, but what if Eren gets eaten?"

Reiner replied," Only then will I step in with my titan.'

"Guys, what are you talking about..?" A small voice made the Hoover and Braun freeze. Behind them was Marco Bodt and he had heard their entire incriminating discussion.

As the two stared silently, Marco continued, "What did you mean by "my titan" Reiner? And what about "the hole we opened" Bertholdt?"

"Marco.." Reiner mumbled.

Marco knew he should've ran away as soon as he heard everything, but he didn't. Shakily, Marco spoke, "Come on.. This isn't like you guys, now let's go we have a mission to do.."

After his little direct, Marco flew off the building expecting the other two to follow, yet they didn't. What Body didn't expect was to be at slowly and brutally murdered by his former comrades..

Bloodshed, screaming, and betrayal is what Marco experienced in his final moments alive. Reiner and Bertholdt tackled him and restrained him from escaping.

Passing by, Annie witnessed the struggle and questioned Reiner. He explained how Bodt overheard he and Berthodt's conversation.

A titan rounded the corner and headed towards the four. Reiner then instructed Leonhart to remove Marco's gear to refrain him from telling anyone. "Reiner, I can't-"

He yelled, "We are warriors, think about your father, think about our families!" With watery tears in her eyes, Annie removed Marco's ODM gear. Just as the titan approached, the trio fled to a nearby roof.

As the titan grasped Marco in it's hand, he cried out, "Why? Please, wait! We haven't even had a chance to talk this through!"

Annie cried, Bertholdt stayed quiet.. Reiner teared, "Why is Marco.. getting eaten?"
