Alex sat in the park as the hours went by, feeling the cool wind go by as he watched the people. The memories of his dad's death played once again in his mind as he tried to dismiss them, focusing on the everyday life on the human colony. Alex had now been a soldier for eight months now and was already coming close to death over and over again. After the fight for Mars he was now relocated to New Horizon, a human colony in the Draco system orbiting the star know as Epsilon. From orbit, and even down below, the planet bared a striking resemblance to Earth as its gravity and atmosphere were the same. The plant life was also similar in appearance and shape, but the animals resembled dinosaurs. The only difference with the earth is that New Horizon had not one, but two moons in orbit. Two moons named Hades and Desus. It became the first ever Earth-like planet to be colonized.
Alex began to receive a transmission from HQ. He pulled up a holographic screen from his watch. Hector was on the other end.
"Hey Alex, you doing okay?"
"I'm fine Hector. What the situation now?"
"There's a Terran empire leader that's expected to be in arrival at exactly 9:00. Being that this planet runs on the same timeline as Earth, it shouldn't be a problem for you."
"Right. I''ll be at the plaza shortly. Over and out!"
Alex ended the transmission and went back to admiring the average life in the park. His hair blew in the wind softly as he relaxed from his duties. Alex then felt a touch on his shoulder, he turned around to see Chelsea holding two cans. She sat down and handed one over.
"Hey. You don't seem okay."
"When we were on Mars......i thought you were.....dead." Alex replied. "I was told that nobody survived that incident."
Chelsea took a deep breath, then continued. "I was more concerned for you though. I've known you since we were two. Don't you remember Alex? We met in a park just like this, back on Earth.
Alex thought back to the day he went to the park. He was two years old at the time running about in the forest. Until he saw a girl his age hiding under a tree. The girl seemed down and upset about something and looked as though she wanted to shut herself away. Reluctantly, Alex walked over to her. After introducing himself, the red haired girl introduced herself as Chelsea Farron. From that day forward, Chelsea and Alex became the greatest of friends. But deep inside his heart, he had always harbored feelings for her.
"Yeah. Hey, come on. We've got to head off to the plaza."
Alex got up from the bench and turned on his hover bike. Chelsea got on the back, and Alex made his way to the plaza. When they arrived nothing was out of the ordinary. No Terrans were in sight. Alex could see men and women his age standing at different angles and corners of the place. They each carried a gun at their hip, as they were fellow soldiers. Alex looked up and down at the mall trying to spot an eye out for Terrans, but nothing came into view. The memories of the red explosion and his fathers death played in his mind again.
"Alex, are you.......?" Chelsea asked. He came back to his senses, his face sweating.
"I'm fine. Worry about yourself for now."
The night had fallen as the two moons of New Horizon came into clear view. The wind blew softly and silence filled the area. A large open plain far in the distance from Alex, who was hiding behind a rock in the mountains. He was on an assassination mission to take out a Terran emperor arriving on New Horizon. Chelsea was on the far part of the mountain side scoping out enemies for Alex to kill. The area was silent. There were remains of small abandoned houses below. Then, a sound came about.
