The next day had arrived with an early wake up call. The higher ups of the military organization were discussing business involving the Terrans. The Exos Corps had to secretly capture and, if possible, kill the Terrans at Intel Core. What made the situation worst was that Intel Core was a building situated in the center of New Alexandris. A place where dozens of people walk about everyday of the week and shop. It was about the most populous place in the whole city. A unit of men would enter the building through the roof or underground and take the Terrans throughout the building hostage. What came next was up to the commanding officers of the Exos Corps.

To prepare for the upcoming battle, and to save hundreds, possibly thousand of innocent lives in New Alexandris, Alex and the team decided to use the whole first half of the day to train for battle.

"Watch out!" Alex yelled dodging the incoming Terran hologram. He and the others were inside the virtual reality room.

"I've got you!" Chelsea said. "Take this!"

Chelsea had rapidly squeezed the triggers on her gun as she dashed from left and right, firing at the targets. A score number popped up above each dead hologram. It was to show how much damage the soldier could do.

"Noah, check your six!" Rina said. "He's on your ass."

Noah turned around and noticed the Terran behind him. The test hologram fired three shots into Noah, and he fell to the ground. Noah got back up and looked at the lower left of his virtual HUD, he was losing points before he would loose the battle. He fired his assault rifle at the Terrans surrounding him.

"Rene, how long do we have to keep this up?" Rina asked as she killed the Terran behind her. Rene replied through a transmission.

"Until you've scored at least one million points."

The group resumed their training killing off the holograms resembling Terrans. The soldiers outside the VR room were watching the practice fight through a monitor displayed in the hangar, where engineers had been working on the Mechs.

"I'll admit for kids, they hold their own in combat."

"I'm not sure. They're too cocky!"

"The gray head seems to be giving up."

Comments. Questions. Suspicions rose about between the soldiers as they watched. Alex and his friends had been part of the Junior Division of the elite class in the Exos Corps. If the trainees were to pass all of the cruel life or death training, they would be transferred to the elite class of the military organization, while the others would be the low class foot soldiers. Alex, Chelsea, Noah, and Rina were among the lucky ones to have the privilege of piloting a Mech. But even that didn't impress the ones that were older than them. Except for Alex's sister Rene.

Alex jumped onto a tall rock using his jet pack and looked for targets below him. The simulation's timer was at one minuet and Alex wanted to kill at least ten more targets to get one million points. Griping his assault rifle he found the first five targets and shot fired. They exploded with virtual data and Alex proceeded to finish off the remaining holograms. His score for killing went up. The simulation around him started to change rapidly, and Alex soon found himself surrounded by trees and lakes. Chelsea, Noah, and Rina were nowhere to be seen.

Where the hell am i now...?

Out of the blue, a large sized creature appeared in the forest, tackling Alex to the ground. It was a Hunter. Alex began to panic as the beast attempted to clamp its large jaws into him, and he kicked it away. But then Alex remembered, it was just a simulation. Pulling out his combat knife Alex charged forward towards the Hunter, as it did the same. The two collided, but Alex slashed away at its side severing the hologram in half. It disappeared. Silence soon returned to the field. Slowly getting up onto his feet Alex sheathed his knife and looked at his surroundings, and he noticed his score made it to one million points. He plopped onto a tree in relief as the forest around him began to turn into pixels and disappear. A white space returned, and Alex stepped out from the VR room coming upon Rene and the others.
