Three days. You had been crammed in that blasted crate for three whole days. You found a great hiding spot where you knew you wouldn't get caught. Unfortunately the cargo ship turned out to be some royal vessel so it was highly guarded 24/7 during the voyage. By the third day you were pretty sure your feet were crippled and you had mad back pain. You decided this was the night you were gonna escape from the small hell you were crammed in.
It wouldn't be easy of course, but you couldn't take it anymore. You would find a way, even if it meant fighting the whole royal army.
Night came and with it a calm ocean. It would've been easier to escape if there was a storm or some disturbance but beggars can't be choosers I guess. You heard every noise from the talking of guards, to the whispering of sailors, to the mouse in the corner. Then you heard a strange noise, something you couldn't quite mark. It got louder, but just enough for your assassin ears to hear. It sounded like a boat, gliding on water, but then you could also hear fire crackling. You closed your eyes fully concentrating on any and ever noise.
"Ship's clear." you heard a guard telling his superior.
"Good. It's a calm night so there should be no disturbance tonight but never let your guard down."
"Yes sir!"
"Sir!" another guard yelled. From what it sounded like, he was a lookout.
"What is it, soldier?"
"There seems to be something on the water. I can't see it very well though."
"Well shoot it down! I don't care what it is. It could be a threat either way."
"Yes sir!"
The next thing you heard was confusion. You heard gunshots and a cannon go off. Then some shouting and a loud whooshing sound.
"FIRE!" you heard someone yell.
It was chaos after that. Men were running back and forth. The higher ups were yelling orders. Then there was fighting. Swords clashed and guns fired.
You heard someone yell, "Pirates!"
This is perfect. Its so chaotic that I could easily get away. No one will even notice or I'll just blend in.
You got out out of the crate, more like fell out, and tried standing up. Your feet and back ached beyond belief and it took a few tries but you were finally able to walk. It was more of a stagger tho and you held on the things you could reach that could support you. Trying to stagger quietly was harder than you thought. There were shots fired in your direction and cargo on fire. It was a full out war zone.
You finally got the edge of the ship where the escape boats were tied, bobbing on the water. You started climbing overboard when a sword swung straight for you. You dodged it just in time, seeing the commander holding the deadly weapon.
"You're not going anywhere. You're not one of ours so I'm guessing you're with the pirates," he said, sure of himself.
You pointed to yourself, "Me?"
He was not amused and swung for your head. You ducked again. You couldn't fight at the moment bc of your dead legs so all you did was dodge. You could tell he was getting annoyed with all your dodges which just amused you. Suddenly your back hit the rail of the ship.
"There's nowhere to go," the commander said pointing the sword at you.
You raised your arms but he swung at you. You dodged just before the sword wedged into the railing of the ship but lost your balance, falling backward. Before you could hit the bottom, a strong hand grabbed your waist, pulling you up and dropping you on the deck of the ship. Before you could realize what happened, you saw a stranger run behind the commander and punch him in the head, sending him flying into the railing of the cargo ship.
"This is for the girl," he smirked. The boy had black hair sticking under his hat and a freckled face.
The commander staggered. The boy then shot a blast of fire at the commander, sending him into the water below.
He's a devil fruit user?! Who is he?
The boy turned and walked over to you sitting with your back to the ship's railing.
"You alright?" he leaned toward you. "Who are you?"
"That is not of your concern," you replied dryly.
He frowned. "I think it is of my concern."
You glared and tried standing up...and crumbled right back down. Crap. Must've pulled or ripped my tendon when I fell off the deck.
"What do you want?" you asked the boy who was still standing and looking at you.
"I want to make sure you're not the enemy, thats all," he replied.
"Im not the enemy. There. Now go away."
He did not look amused.
"Hey commander!" a fat man with black hair and a beard came up the the boy.
Commander?
"Yeah?" the stranger looked back at the man.
Wait this boy is the commander of the pirates?! He raided the ship?
"The ship's ours," the fat man said smirking.
"Good. Bring over our ship and load the cargo," he commanded.
Before either men knew what happened, you were holding a knife to the commander's neck.
"Unless you want your commander's neck to get cut off," you said seriously, "you will step back slowly and drop your weapon."
"Who's she?" the fat man asked taking a step back.
"I don't know myself Teach," the other replied being unusually calm.
"Now who are you?" you asked the commander.
"How about you let me go and we'll talk about this like normal people not enemies?" he suggested.
"You are my enemy, pirate boy."
"If you're so worried, then just kill me."
You contemplated. Were you gonna kill him or not? It wouldn't be a problem. He was a threat to you.
Suddenly he spun around, his whole body turning into flames. You winced and dropped the knife from the burns on your hands. The boy's back was turned to you and you saw the large tattoo on his back. A Whitebeard pirate?! A commander at that! Even if I killed him, I would have no chance at living because of those Whitebeard pests.
You sighed and raised your arms defeated. "I don't have a name. I'm an assassin who just happened to get stuck on this cargo ship. I don't mean any harm." You decided to not cause anymore trouble for yourself. And you lied about not having a name. You did regret saying you were an assassin. They might not let you go now.
"Now this is interesting," the commander snickered. "I guess I'll introduce myself first before anything else. I'm Ace. Portgas D. Ace. And I'm also the second commander of the Whitebeard pirates."
You nodded your hands still in the air.
"What do we do with the girl, Ace?" Teach asked.
"Let's take her with us for now. I'll figure the rest out later," he said and walked closer to you tilting your head. "Now don't try anything funny, love."
You gritted your teeth.
Once roughly led onto the Whitebeard ship, you were placed in one of the few holding cells in the base of the ship where you were promised to be dealt with later. What bullshit...!
Ok so when I say edit, I mean spot any signs of unbearable cringe and delete...like omg guys, emo phase was really strong -_-
