Like a Brother (acexreader)

No Tears

Rain tapped on your window and you could hear thunder in the distance. You had always loved rain and sat by the window, staring into distance at the bit of lightning that struck the water. The ship was quiet...too quiet. Everyone was most likely in their room or the dining hall. The sea was quiet despite the storm and no one wanted to get soaked by the rain. Of course you wouldn't mind but you didn't want to be the only one running around in the rain looking like an idiot.

There was a bit of commotion coming from the deck and then it went quiet again. Someone knocked on your door merrily. Without waiting for a reply, he walked in looking happier than he normally was.

"Thatch!" You wanted to scold him but then stopped. "You're back from your assignment?"

"Yup!" he said cheerfully and grabbed your hand. "Come with me!"

"Wait to where?" you asked but he just kept pulling you out of your room.

"Thatch! Stop for a second please," you tugged back and he stopped quickly.

"What?" 

"I should be asking you that."

You chuckled and rubbed his neck. "Sorry. I just got great news."

"What is it?" you asked curiously.

"I got a devil fruit!"

"You have devil fruit powers?!"

"Well...not yet. I didn't eat it yet. But I wanted to wait and celebrate with my siblings." He patted your head.

"Thatch...this is great!" You always knew Thatch had wished for devil fruit powers. He wanted to become stronger. It was his dream.

He pulled you again toward the deck. "Would you come and celebrate with me?"

You laughed. "Of course!"

You both ran onto the deck. You felt the rain on your skin. It was so fresh. Thatch grabbed both of your hands and twirled you around. You giggled and danced along. The rain was soaking both of you but neither cared. You were having so much fun, enjoying every moment. Thatch was such a great brother and you loved him so much (as a brother only...this is still acexreader)! 

You and Thatch were still celebrating when you noticed Ace standing in a corner, away from the rain. He had a small glint of jealousy in his eyes. He also looked amused. You ran over to him and before neither of you said anything, you tugged his arm, pulling him into the rain. You danced with both your brothers in the rain until it slowed down. All three of you were soaked to the bone and laughing. You all probably looked so ridiculous to the pirates who had walked on deck to take care of the ship. They snickered but said nothing.

Teach walked over to the three of you once you all changed. 

"Whatcha guys so happy about today?" Teach questioned.

"Well you see Thatch here got a devil fruit," Ace patted Thatch's shoulder.

Thatch took out the fruit showing it off. You were proud of Thatch. Then looking over to Teach, you saw his eyes widen a bit. He then smirked.

"Congrats there Thatch," he laughed and stalked off.

"I really don't like him," you commented aloud.

"He's not so bad," Thatch told you.

You, Thatch, Ace, Marco, and a few others decided to have a few drinks that evening in celebration. Thatch left earlier tho bc he was on lookout duty that night. You passed out sometime after midnight because of the strong drinks. You definitely didn't have a high tolerance for alcohol. When got woken up by a strong headache and the sound a lightning. You looked at the clock and moaned. It was five in the morning. You looked around and saw Marco, Ace, and others passed out around the room. Did they drink that much?
