The trial went great. Everyone is happy and Espresso is celebrating his friends victory. Espresso got his other niece back but there's still a case that needs to be solved.

"Hey, Almond." Espresso said.
"Yes?" Almond asked.
"You take a family day for you guys tomorrow. I'll take care of everything." Espresso said.
"Are you sure?" Almond replied.
"Of course. You deserve it." Espresso said.
"Thank you, Espresso." Almond replied.

"Well well well, I didn't think I'll see you here. One of my teacher is even present. What seems to be the occasion?" A familiar annoying voice said.
"Ah, Sir Madeleine. Good evening." Latte said.
"Madeleine." Espresso said annoyed.
"That's me. I was just about to go home after a business meeting. I just wanted to say hi." Madeleine said. "I didn't know your definition of busy is having dinner in a restaurant with your friends Espresso." Madeleine added.
"Listen crack head, this day is special. My friend Almond here just won a custody over his child." Espresso said trying not to curse and proudly said at the same time.
"In that case, congratulations to you Sir Almond. Let it be my treat for you and your family." Madeleine said.
"Oh no that's not necessary, Sir." Almond said.
"Yes Madeleine. Don't. This is a very special occasion so please, leave us be." Espresso said.
"We appreciate your generosity, Sir. Thank you but we can't accept it." Latte said.
"Alright then. Have a great evening then. Especially your grumpy friend here." Madeleine said before leaving.

"Is the dean hitting you on uncle?" Cream asked.
"Let's just eat. I don't want anything involving him." Espresso said and they all agreed to not bring Madeleine on the conversation.

"Good night, everyone." Espresso said as Almond's family and him parted ways. Espresso was ready to call a taxi when a familiar car honked it's horn that caught Espresso's attention.

"Need a ride?" Madeleine asked as he brings down his window.
"No. Don't stalk me." Espresso said.
"I'm not stalking you. I'm waiting for you." Madeleine said.
"Just leave. I have a very stressful day in your university tomorrow so you will see me either way." Espresso said.
"Alright. See you tomorrow then." Madeleine said and drove away. Espresso still cannot believe the mans audacity and bravery. It's like as if his career isn't on the line. At least that's what he doesn't know yet.

The next day came quick and Espresso was still confused. How can a crime scene be so difficult yet easy at the same time. The body was badly hidden and the murderer was still nowhere to be seen. When something is close to be solved it all comes back to square one. Espresso looked and replay the CCTV tapes again and again but still nothing. He's beginning to give up.

"You seem stressed." Madeleine said
"I now am considering you're here." Espresso said rubbing his head.
"Why do you even hate me so much?" Madeleine asked.
"Because you're annoying and stubborn. Didn't we already established that?" Espresso said.
"No I already know that. The espresso I know doesn't get annoyed by me." Madeleine said. Espresso went silent.
"Listen, I'm annoyed because you keep on clinging to me when I'm doing this to–" Espresso said cutting himself off. Madeleine grew curious.
"What were you about to say?" Madeleine asked.
"It's nothing. I'm still investigating so please leave." Espresso said turning around and looks at the footages one more time.
"Come on Espresso. Tell me so that I can try fixing it. So you won't feel unsafe anymore." Madeleine said trying to get into Espresso's vision.
"It's no use. It's something you can't fix. Only I can." Espresso said coldly. "Listen, I'm at work and I'm already stressed as it is. If you could help me with this, which you can't, that would be better." Espresso added.
"I could help. I am the dean." Madeleine said.
"This is a professionals work. I'll deal with this. Your staff doesn't seem to be prime suspects as well so I need a lot of space with no distractions." Espresso said.
"None?" Madeleine asked.
"You heard me. None. All their testimonies are very accurate from the footages. Though now that you mentioned it. There's still one person I have missed." Espresso said.
"Who?" Madeleine asked.
"Call in your school janitor. I'll have to ask questions." Espresso said and Madeleine obliged.

It was so simple. Why didn't both detectives thought of it before.

"You wanted to see me, Sir?" The janitor asked.
"Yes I do. Please have a seat. Sir Madeleine please leave. I need to talk to this man alone." Espresso said with his serious tone. Madeleine obliged.
"On the night of the murder at July 27th. It was estimated that the crime happened at 8:00 PM, exactly where you, the janitor, is the only one left. Mind stating what you did that night before leaving the school?" Espresso asked.
"Well, at 8 I was still cleaning and then I left at almost 9 and made sure everything was in place. I didn't hear anything such as screaming." The janitor said.
"Interesting." Espresso said. "Okay I believe you." Espresso added. The janitor felt relieved.
"Is what I should've said if I did. Sir, you are under arrest first degree murder. Officer!" Espresso said calling the officers to arrest the man.
"Hey wait, you don't have any evidence that I did it. HEY WAIT!" The janitor said trying to fight back.
"I should say, you're really smart." Espresso said and followed behind the cops.
"What happened?" Madeleine asked.
"I just deduced that on the day after the crime the janitor seem to be the only person not present. You have a lot of staff so we didn't really payed close attention to it until now. He also used weapons that he's positive he won't be suspicious of. The cleaning materials. When he heard that he wasn't a prime suspect he showed up to school and now that I think about it I'm starting to be rusty at my job." Espresso explained.
"That's really impressive." Madeleine praised.
"There's a reason why I became one of the top detectives in my department." Espresso bragged.
"What is the janitors relationship with the victim then?" Madeleine asked.
"That's easy. He's a stalker of the child. He was rejected and killed her in cold blood." Espresso said. Madeleine seemed very impressed.
"Now then sir janitor. We'll be seeing you in jail." Espresso said but before the man could even get in the police car he pushed everyone back and took one of the cops' gun and ran while handcuffs still in his hands. Espresso ran behind the janitor with Madeline and 2 other cops behind him while others tries to block any escape routes.
The janitor broke down everything he came across just to slow down the people behind him but Espresso was catching up. He's fast and could slide and jump at everything.

The janitor then broke the handcuffs and was now faster than before. Espresso then ran faster chasing after the man. Soon after, the janitor was in a tight spot. He was cornered and nowhere to slip into. Espresso slowly approached the man with his hands up.

"Sir, calm down. Please drop the gun." Espresso said.
"Stay back!" The man said holding up the gun with shaky hands.
"Sir please, it will be easier for the both of us to just calm down and drop the weapon." Espresso continued to slowly walk forward. The others then finally caught up. The man panicked.
"I said STAND BACK!" The man said and shot the gun aimlessly at Espresso.
