By the time Wanda had returned to the dance floor with two drinks in hand, you were gone. She was sure this was where she left you, but she didn't panic because she knew it was a big place with a lot of people. Maybe you were just swept away somewhere.

Wanda pulls out her phone and sends you a quick text asking where you were before resuming her hunt to find you.

The more Wanda looked, though, the more nervous she became. You were nowhere to be found and you weren't answering your phone. The worst possible thoughts began swirling through her head as she began pushing through people, trying to find you.

Then, out of the corner of her eye, she notices a door down the hall click shut. Keeping her eyes on the door in the distance, she begins making her way through the crowd towards it.

As she got closer and closer to the door, an intense feeling of dread deepened in the pit of her stomach. So many things could have happened in the five minutes she was gone getting drinks. She couldn't help but anticipate the worst possible outcomes.

When Wanda was finally within a few steps of the door, she began to make out the muffled sounds of what seemed to be several men talking. Though she was curious about what they were saying, she was more interesting in finding you.

Wanda pushes through the door and freezes for a moment as she comprehends the scene laid out in front of her. The three men snap their heads in her direction, their mouths agape and their eyes stunned.

What was only a few seconds of stillness felt like an eternity to Wanda. There you were, laying unconscious against the side of the building with the barrel of a gun pressed to your forehead. Wanda's eyes paused on the trigger of the gun and how the man's finger twitched against it.

Wanda reacted in an instant, forcing the man's arm upwards with her magic just as his finger squeezed the trigger. The bullet ricochets off the brick and the other two men cover their heads instinctually.

Wanda's palms begin to glow as she throws the man against the wall, the gun flying from his hand. One of the remaining two men swing a punch at her while the other reaches for his own weapon.

Wanda easily dodges the swing and is able to throw the man right into the ground. When she looks up to deal with the last one, she finds herself staring down the barrel of a gun. The last standing man holds the pistol tightly in his hand, a crooked smirk on his lips at his perceived victory.

Breathing heavily, Wanda finds herself at a standstill with the man. Her face, which was already contorted with anger and concentration, darkens even further. Something about that smirk set her off. Wanda would already go to the greatest of lengths to protect those she loves, but to attempt to murder the one she would lay everything down for, and then smile about it? It made Wanda want to do unspeakably bad things.

Wanda holds eye contact with the man, her head tilted to the side and her fist slowly clenching. Red wisps form around the man's hand as well as the gun, and as her fist clenches harder, the metal of the gun begins to bend.

The man cries out in pain as his hand is slowly crushed along with his weapon. The gun collapses in on itself like a tin can and the man is forced to drop it as all the bones in his hand are ground to dust under the pressure of her magic.

He wasn't smirking anymore.

Wanda steps forward as the man falls to his knees and doubles over in pain, cradling his broken hand. She stands over him, reaching down and tilting his head up with one finger under his chin. Her face twitches with anger.

"If I ever see any of you ever again, I'll break every bone in your body. Slowly." She says through a clenched jaw. "Consider this mercy." She adds.

He nods rapidly, and Wanda shoves him in the direction of the other two men who were slowly getting up, groaning in pain. Together, the three of them quickly stumble out of the alleyway.

Wanda takes a deep breath, and once they are out of her sight, she runs to you and drops down at your side. "Hey," She says breathily in hopes that you would respond, quickly scanning over your face for any signs of consciousness.

She presses her hands down your torso, checking for any wounds. She knew you were alive, she could see you breathing, but she couldn't help but get flashbacks to the time you lay dead in her arms. If she would have been a second later, she would be going through it all over again. That scared her.

After making sure you weren't wounded, Wanda focuses her attention back on your face. "(y/n), baby, wake up." Her voice shakes slightly, still on edge from the entire situation.

Wanda cups your face in her hands and guides your head upright. "Come on... please." She begs for a response, but doesn't receive one. Whatever it was that knocked you out must have been strong.

Actively suppressing a panic response at your persistent unconsciousness, Wanda had to think about the best course of action. She had to get you help, and quickly.

Wanda takes a deep breath and then hooks her arms under your shoulders, lifting your limp body off the ground. With a grunt, she quickly shifts you so she's holding you around the waist and your head rests against her shoulder.

She breathes deeply again and then takes off into the air, red tendrils of magic swirling around the two of you as you fly.

The flight back to the compound felt unusually fast to Wanda, most likely because she was hyper focused on not dropping you the whole time. She was glad it went by fast, though. Less time for her to spend worrying.

Wanda lands in front of the compound door, struggling to continue to hold you up. She grunts as she pulls you through the doors.

"Hey!" She yells out as she continues to pull you further into the compound. "I need help in here!"

It was late. She hoped someone was awake to hear her cries for help.

Natasha was the first one to come running. She was the closest when she heard Wanda yelling out.

As soon as Wanda sees that someone had come to help her, she drops to the ground, holding you in her lap. She couldn't keep you upright anymore.

Natasha's eyes widen when she sees you unconscious. She rushes to your side and drops to her knees to check your pulse as Tony comes running in only seconds after her.

"What the hell happened?" Tony exclaims as he hurries over, blinking the sleep from his eyes.

Wanda shakes her head. "I don't know, we were at the club and then... these guys, they... I found her outside like this and they had guns and they were going to fucking kill her and I-" Wanda rambles almost incoherently before Tony cuts her off.

"Hey, just calm down okay? Let's just get her to the med room."

Wanda hesitates for a moment before nodding in agreement. Another pair of footsteps is heard entering the room soon after.

"What's all of this commotion?" Thor asks, glancing around at everyone in the room. After seeing you unconscious in Wanda's arms, he speaks again. "I knew she was weak. So much for the new Avenger." He shrugs.

"She's not dead you fucking idiot." Natasha scoffs. "Just pick her up and take her to the med room." She orders as she walks past him.

He raises an eyebrow and contemplates the command for a second before shrugging again. "Alright." He steps forward and leans down to slide his arms under you.

Wanda quickly stands up to follow everyone.

Tony exhales deeply through his nose. He knew you would be absolutely furious if you knew Thor had carried you anywhere. "No one can tell her about this if she wakes up." He says.

Wanda snaps her head in Tony's direction "If?!" She exclaims.

Tony holds his hands up innocently. "When, I mean when."
