Two Generals Revolted against the Empire creating the Houses of Gladius and Lupus (House Wolf is what it is on the map and I am to lazy to fix it). House Leo eventually took control of Neo Constantinople and was supported by the Varangian Kingdom. This war would be known as the War of Elysian Succession, a war between three great houses and only one has survived.

Through several decisive battles House Leo won the war for the Empire. The current emperor, Augustus Marcus Anthony Leo married the Queen of the Varangian Kingdom, Queen Ingegerd Ström. The other two houses are still in existence and have sworn loyalty to house Leo.

This is the modern empire under Aurelia Leo her mother and father left her the lands of both the nations on the continent of Elysia. Now the South Eastern part of the Empire has been attacked by the Fire Nation finally bringing the Empire into the Hundred Year War.
A/N: So the name of the empire is Elysium which was basically Heaven in Ancient Greece, the title of Empire is foreign to the nations of this world so they will just refer to them as Elysium as they don't know that the true name of the nation is the Imperium Elysium or the Elysian Empire. Elysium is just used more because it is shorter.
A/N: So quick update: I am making another book that will go more in-depth about the Empire and it's history. I would also like to address the main story lines in this.
One story line will follow the Best Elysian General, Paladin (named for an old American tv show called Have Gun - Will Travel) and his travels with his army through the Continent West of Elysium. The other storyline will follow the Empress and her campaign against the Fire Nation, while trouble brews back home. There is a connection between the Empress and Paladin, but I don't want to spoil to much.
A/N: Another update, I want to say I have another book that I am working on that will go more in depth on the world of this book so I recommend checking it out.
