"No way! Is that a...who the hell is that?!" Yeseo stated in surprise at the tesla X model that had drove its way onto the grounds of the university. Murmurs only grew louder as the crowd of students saw Jeno walking towards the car, head hung low and hood up. He didn't waste a second glancing in the direction of the other students at the entrance who gossiped about him.
"What's going on?" Nara exclaimed, running to the girl with her arms enlaced in Haechan's after the small prank they had pulled on the professor who was awkwardly short by putting his whiteboard duster much higher than he could reach. It was Hyuck's idea but he took Nara with him for safety measures knowing she wouldn't get caught for doing anything bad.
"Didn't you hear that Jeno's mom got remarried to some super rich doctor?" Another classmate added
"That's his step dad? Dude's kinda young no?" Nara mumbled, squinting her eyes to get a better look at the bleach-blonde haired man that stepped out of the car to to greet him, not getting a greeting from Jeno back.
"That's his step brother, Jung Jaehyun. He's a senior" Yeseo corrected, fully reading up on all the gossip that had been published on the university's unofficial news text updates.
The person went by the name 'Pandora', implying that their texts revealing the secrets of their fellow campus mates was like Pandora's box, wreaking havoc but also giving justice in a not so traditional way.
"I heard he's a med student too" another student chimed
"Ugh I can't wait for a new Pandora update on this hottie!" Said another
"He's so hot oh my god!!" The girls swooned over the man as they caught a proper look at both the boys. Jaehyun's snow white skin almost sparkling from the sun as if it was the cliche twilight scene, unfortunately Jeno, no matter how hot he was, didn't like the unwanted attention and tucked his way into the passenger seat that Jaehyun had opened for him.
"Don't you guys have a home to get to?" The older man's voice boomed as the deep vocals hit each students ear drums. However most girls just swooned at his sexy voice while others decided to clear the school grounds, realising that his prince like features didn't exactly match his scarier demeanour hidden underneath.
"Who even is Jeno?" Nara asked
"How do you not know my bestie? I literally always talk about him?!" Haechan scolded
"No, you always talk about Renjun" she corrected
"Well he is the heather of the group after all" Chaeyoung said with a chuckle As the friend group slowly started to gather into a circle, moving back into the main hall of the hogwarts-style building. It was a hidden part of the entire SNU campus, the old english influenced building being the home for those who chose to major in primary disciplines like English, Math and Philosophy.
"But really how can you not know Jeno? He's in all of our lectures" Yeseo asked
"In all fairness though he does fuck off to swim practice whenever we have a break, plus he barely even shows up to class" Jaemin said and the group agreed, cutting her some slack
"So how do you all know him?" She asked, feeling a little left out
"We all went to high school together, he used to be captain of the swim team" Jaemin piped
"Then how come he didn't enroll in KNSU?" She asked, her questions delving into the issue further to find out more
"His parents weren't that happy about it" Haechan said with a sigh, ruffling her hair
"His heads always in the water and your head is always in the books, I'd be surprised if he even knew you existed" Haechan said with a chuckle, trying to change the topic back to her knowing it wasn't the best idea to spread Jeno's family issues around.
"I'm not always studying!" She corrected
"We get it, you're a party animal who still ranked first last semester" Renjun chuckled, shaking his head at her great need to be appreciated
"What rank did Jeno get?" She asked
"One hundred and something" Renjun said simply, pursing his lips
"Oh-"
"Don't say it" Haechan sighed from her side
"So he's dumb?" she asked, more like a statement
"How rude! I scored 107th place!" Haechan exclaimed, feelings her judgemental remark bruise his ego as well
"Well obviously, you were never that smart" She chuckled and he rolled her eyes
"You're so stuck up its the one thing i hate about you" Haechan mumbled
"Sorry baby, but maybe if you stopped playing kart rider during every advanced genetics lesson you might have passed your exam last semester. You do know you need to rank over a hundred this semester to pass pre-med right?" she asked raising an eyebrow at him and he shuddered, brain not functioning after she had called him baby
"Don't call me baby...it effects me in more ways than one" Haechan mumbled making the group chuckle
"You're actually so disgusting Lee" she scoffed
"No! You're just dirty minded, you twat!" he shot back

"So how was college today?" Jeno's mum asked, sparking up conversation at the dinner table and he sighed
"Just like every other day at college...it was fine" Jeno mumbled, biting into the spoon of rice
"A little less tone please Jeno. And you Jaehyun, how was work?" She asked
"It was great, thanks for asking" Jaehyun smiled and Jeno snickered
"What's so great about watching people die everyday?" Jeno asked with a scoff
"Lee Jeno!-"
"Can we just...have a peaceful family dinner?" Jeno's stepdad asked as he sighed, rubbing his tensed temples with his fingers.
"Could you pass the salt?" Jaehyun asked, trying to intercede the thick silence that ensued
"Get it yourself." Jeno mumbled
"It irritates me that you boys are so cold to each other! Jeno your grades are incredibly ridiculous! At least ask your brother for help! He ranked the highest in pre-med! He's in his final year of Med School for god's sake-"
"I lost my appetite" Jeno mumbled, letting out an exasperated sigh, scraping the legs of his chair on the floor as he left the dining room, ignoring his mother's desperate calls for him to rejoin them.

"You got a minute?" Jaehyun asked through the door that was slightly ajar to see Jeno playing League on his PC, immediately muting his mic as he saw his older step brother step in
"What do you want?" He asked, not paying much attention to Jaehyun
"Listen i know this isn't the ideal situation we're in and it must be extre-"
"Cut to the chase hyung" Jeno said with a small roll of his eyes as he lazily typed on his keyboard
"Jeno, I understand the major you got into isn't the one you wanted and it's really hard. I'm not trying to act like I know it all but I can help-"
"You're seriously just enjoying being a kiss ass aren't you? Yeah sure you're a doctor and you're doing amazing things with your life but guess what? I'm not you. And as much as my mom wants me to be you, i will never be you. I enjoy swimming, its the one thing I'm good at—that I've ever been good at...so please, for the love of god, stop acting like you know better and what's best for me" Jeno spat, feeling his unleashed anger rise in his veins
"Jeno...you're not in a sports university-"
"Get the fuck out of my room." Jeno said with a scoff, shaking his head at the man who was only four years older than him yet talked like his father
