It was a late May afternoon, without a single cloud in the sky. You were taking a stroll with your boyfriend, Dave, wheeling beside you. You were also blasting your favorite tunes with a speaker inside your backpack while other people were around, but nobody seemed to care. You two were walking and talking, laughing and joking, and vibing with the music. Dave spots a bench at a park with a bay right in front of it.
"Wanna park ourselves over here?" Dave suggests.
"Sure thing!" you reply.
Both of you go to the nearby bench. You help Dave off of his wheelchair and sit right next to him. You guys start a conversation, which ends with the two of you cracking up.
You notice that it has gotten dark really fast. You scroll through your Spotify playlist and find a chill song to play on your little speaker.
"Wow, who knew this park could be so beautiful during the sunset?" Dave asked softly, admiring the view.
"I know right?" you answer.
"It's almost as beautiful as you", Dave flirted.
"Oh, stop it!" You chuckle, blushing a bit.
"It's true and you know it," Dave said in a sincere tone while brushing your hair out of your face.
You and your boyfriend stared at the water, the sun's rays reflecting on the sparkling blue bay. Some stars started to appear in the sky, making their own shimmering reflections. Dave watched in amazement as he wrapped his arm around you, and you leaned your head against his shoulder in response.
"Y/N, I feel that we should do this more often. I love spending quality time with you." Dave said as he put his free hand on yours.
"I enjoy every moment I have with you, too. Sadly, my job always gets in the way," You answered.
"Yeah.. but I'm happy to be sitting with you now," Dave said.
You work at a local Cinnabon, selling the sweet cinnamon treats 7 days a week. You took the day off to spend it with Dave since it was a Saturday, a day Dave doesn't have to be at school, teaching his math students.
You smiled and looked back at the stars, which now splattered the night sky, like billions of tiny nightlights. The bay shimmered because of the moon's vibrant glow. You notice Dave lightly tapping your shoulder.
"Hey Y/N, guess what", Dave said, blushing harder and harder.
"What's up, hun?" You ask.
He finally calms down and looks at you, gently holding your cheeks and pecking you on the lips. You start to become extremely flustered, but you liked it. Dave chuckled at this.
After about 20 minutes, you look at your phone to see that it is 6 minutes past midnight.
"Oh damn, it got late." You state in surprise. "I should be leaving-"
Dave tugged on your sleeve mid-sentence. "May I come home with you? I wouldn't want you to be all by yourself in the dark."
"Thank you so much, love! Of course, you may!" You reply with excitement.
"Alright then, let's be on our way!"
You take his hand and help him back onto his wheelchair. Being the gentleman he is, Dave lets you in front of him and you walk off to the sidewalk.
You didn't talk as much as before, with it being so late and everyone being asleep. But every now and again, one of you whispers something to make the walk less boring.
You and Dave finally arrive at your house. Dave seemed to be exhausted, so you offered to let him spend the night. After you and him change, you walk up to him.
"Hey, Dave..."
"What is it, Y/N?"
"Do you feel comfortable... sleeping with me in my bed? It's ok if you don't, I have a sleeping bag or an air mattress if you want to-"
"I don't mind at all", Dave said.
"Wait- no kidding?" You ask, genuinely shocked.
"Nope", Dave replied, smiling. "As long as I don't take up too much space I'm cool with it."
"Oh wow... ok..."
You make some room in your bed for Dave, setting up extra pillows and blankets. You roll to the inside corner of the bed as Dave crawls onto the outside. Dave hugs you and you hug back.
"Goodnight my dear", Dave said before kissing you on the neck.
"Sleep tight baby", you reply softly.
Dave turns around and holds you while rubbing your back until you both fall asleep.
How did you guys like my first story? What should I fix in the next one? I know it has to be some kind of cringy.
