The day of the battle had come. Everyone was in Hogwarts, including Tonks, though she was told by Lupin and Lyra to stay home. At all times, Lyra was at someone's side, since they refused for her to get hurt. Lyra watched as everyone tried to get ready for what was to come, but nobody could ever actually be ready for their chance with death.

Lyra had been with Fleur when the first set of bad wizards and their extras entered Hogwarts. She fought hard, throwing spells, hexes, and curses everywhere, and she had to shield herself and Fleur. Bill would've been by their side, but he knew just how capable the two were, especially together. When losses were piling up, Lyra felt as though the battle was starting to take a turn for the worst. Then You-Know-Who began to talk to everyone on the field. He told everyone that if Harry came to him, he'd let everyone live.

Lyra had to wait to see what was going to happen, and she could feel the nervousness building in the pit of her stomach. She didn't know who was alive and who wasn't. All she knew was that Fleur was alive, standing right next to her, and Tonks had been alive a bit ago when the two girls had passed the older woman.

"You should get that wrapped." Fleur said, pointing to Lyra's arm.

"Not until I'm sure the battle is over. Besides, there's plenty of other people that definitely need Madam Pomfrey's help, so I'm not going to get in the way for my cut." Lyra replied, and Fleur simply nodded, knowing it was pointless to argue with the girl.

"Lyra!" She heard, turning around,"There you are! I need you to come with me." Bill said, causing her eyebrows to furrow.

"Why? What's wrong?" She asked, and the man simply held his hand out to her.

"Please," He murmured,"Come with me." He practically pleaded, as he gave Fleur a look.

Fleur knew almost instantly what that look meant. Something had happened, and Lyra wasn't going to deal with it well. Bill grasped the girls' hands, and lead them to the Main Hall where all of the victims were laying. Lyra had seen Fred first, causing her eyes to fill with tears. She was upset that the boy had died so young, but there wasn't anything she could do to help. He was gone, and everyone was going to deal with losses.

"There's more." Fleur murmured, looking down at her friend.

"What? Who?" Lyra asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Bill could barely force himself to pull Lyra to where her family was laying. He didn't want to see how she was going to react, and he was almost glad Fleur was coming with them. As they approached the bodies, Lyra felt her knees begin to shake. She could only see their hair at the moment, but as Bill helped her walk closer, she felt her entire world crumble.

"Oh Merlin," She murmured,"Please no. No! No!" She exclaimed, her hand squeezing Bill's until his hand felt like it was broken.

"Lyra, you're going to break my hand." He mumbled, causing her to let him go as if he was on fire.

As soon as she had let go of Bill's hand, Lyra crumbled to the ground between Remus and Tonks. Her body was shaking with sobs, as she rocked herself slightly.

"Wake up! Please wake up! Teddy needs you! I need you!" She cried, her face covered in tears,"I can't do this on my own." She whimpered, burying her face in her hands.

Bill couldn't watch her anymore, and neither could Fleur. The scene in front of them hurt, and they couldn't stand by and just watch. Bill bent down to Lyra's height, and pulled her up into his arms. She cried into his chest, as he held her close. Fleur came over and hugged her from behind, giving her friend as much support as she and Bill possibly could.

"They're gone." Lyra kept repeating, as if she couldn't get it through her head unless she finally made herself believe it.

Once they had gotten Lyra to stop crying, everything started up again. Hagrid carried Harry up, as You-Know-Who said that Harry was dead. Lyra wanted to cry again, feeling as though she failed another person, but she couldn't get the tears to fall. Bill simply squeezed her had, as he did his wife's as well, knowing both women needed the reassurance. Neville had gone forward, telling the dark wizard that none of them were going to give up, but then things changed. Harry was alive, and everyone was able to feel a little relieved.

Lyra and the others fought more Death Eaters, as Harry went to take on You-Know-Who. Lyra didn't keep count of how many Death Eaters she defeated, but she knew it wasn't near enough to make up for the deaths of Fred, Lupin, and Tonks. Their deaths were always going to be weighing on Lyra's heart, and she doubted they'd ever go away. They went right along side her father, Regulus, her mother, and James and Lily Potter. She couldn't lose anyone else, otherwise she would crumble under the weight, and possibly never live through it.

"We should get you home. You need to talk with Andromeda, and you need to have a few days to come to terms with what happened before you go home." Bill stated, and Lyra nodded.

"I need their portraits made, for Teddy and I both." Lyra replied, as the three walked through the rubble of what was left of Hogwarts.

"I will get that started for you as soon as I can." Fleur said, kissing the side of her friend's head.

Lyra was scared to tell Andromeda, because she felt like she had failed. She had failed Andromeda, she had failed Lupin, she had failed Tonks, she had failed herself, but most importantly, she had failed Teddy. She was determined to bring his parents back alive, but it didn't happen, and she hated herself for it. They weren't coming back, and she could barely believe it...
