my eyes watered as i watched iceman's casket lower down into his grave
i looked down at bradley's hand as he continued to have a tight grip on mine, i gave his hand a squeeze and looked at his face
he flashed me a soft smiled and leaned in to give me a kiss
after the ceremony was over the rest of us that were training made our way to the bar
i leaned my back into bradley chest "this is sad" i said out loud "we're not even playing pool, every time we're here we play pool"
bradley's chest moved up and down slowly, he moved me to the side and stood up from one of the barstools then grabbed a pool stick for himself and one for me
"i didn't say i wanted to play" i laughed and took it from him, hangman, phoenix, coyote, payback and fanboy followed us "whoever wins buys us a round"
the all looked at me confused "that's not how it works" hangman said and we all laughed
i looked to my side and bob eating more peanuts "you playing?" i asked him
he shook his head and waved his hand at us
after the game was over and payback had to play all of drinks "to iceman" we all said and clicked our drinks together

i heard my phone ring from my bathroom so i rain to it before it ended "hello?" i answered
"is this savannah sky?" a lady from the other side of the phone said
"yes ma'am, who's this?"
i walked down stairs to sit down on my couch
"your mom, kassidy sky has unfortunately passed away, right before she passed she said something about you" i gripped my phone, making sure it doesn't fall out of my hand "or what she wanted me to tell you"
i blinked out multiple tears, waiting for her to finish
"of course that she loves you and hopes you make the mission but that she thinks you should stop, she doesn't want you to -"
i hung up
what the actual fuck? this girl is really trying to tell me what to do?
i threw my phone across the room, obviously mad and upset. what do i do right now?
go and drink my pain away? or go and get comfort from my boyfriend?

"you're here again?" penny asked my once she was me sitting at he bar, drinking a corona. i looked up at her and i guess she saw my bloodshot eyes "what happened sweetheart?"
"it's nothing" i shrugged and she gave me a serious look making me sigh "my mom passed away"
she pulled up a barstool, sitting right next to me and she started rubbing my back "oh sweeting i'm so sorry" i took a drink out of my bottle "so you want me to call someone, maybe rooster?" she nudged me
i shook my head "definitely not rooster" i let out i sniffled laugh "definitely phoenix though"
she gave a smile and stood up, going to her phone. sooner than later phoenix was here cheering me up and of course letting me beat her at pool
she pulled me to the side and gave me a tight hug while swaying "you okay?"
i nodded with a smile "better for sure" we walked outside to our cars, i stopped her before both of us could get any further "hey"
she smiled at me and said "hey" back
"don't tell bradley about this, i'll tell him after the mission"she looked at me with a confused face
"why?"
"i don't want him to worry about me, especially during combat" she nodded understanding
"aw that's cute, he really cares for you" she gave me a smirk
