The wind blew coldly through the open window adjacent to my bed, causing me to shiver awake to its cold touch. I looked around wondering what that weird dream meant, I couldn't seem to remember much about it though. All I could remember was the face of a girl with white hair, everytime I close my eyes I see her staring back at me with a sort of Tsundere look on her face.
Lady: Ah Kenji you're awake!
Kenji: Good morning miss
Lady: The king has ordered for your assistance
Kenji: The king... What could he want with a commoner like me... Especially an orphan child?
Lady: I'm not sure but it might have something to do with his daughter
Kenji: Ah the princess?
Lady: Yes, you should make haste
Kenji: Right!
I gathered my things and hurried out the door, today the streets were crowded, people all about going to work and school. Cars driving up and down the streets too, the city looked lovely and full of life.
As I arrived at the king's palace I was greeted by two guards, they ushered me inside to the throne hall. It was extremely spacious and had a beautiful echo to it.
Guard 1: My King the boy has arrived
King: Good! Good morning young man
Kenji: Good morning My Lord
I knelt onto one knee and brought my hands together in a bow, I wondered to myself again what it might be he wanted me for.
King: I've heard many good things about you boy, such as your cooking skills, and cleaning abilities
Kenji: Yes, I'm the one who cleans the orphanage for the lady that cares for us
King: Interesting, how would you like a special job
Kenji: A special job?
King: After my wife, the queen passed it has been hard to get people to clean my family's living quarters... Many of the maids and servants are far to scared to go up there...
He looked down with a empathetic expression on his face, he sighed preparing for what he's was about to say next...
King: After my wife's death, my daughter hasn't been the same, she loved her mother...
Kenji: I see...
King: I can understand if it may be to hard for you, many fear my daughter for her attitude...
Kenji: I'll do it
King: Huh? Are you sure?
Kenji: I get bullied, and my parents used to beat me... I think I could handle your daughters attitude
King: Wow, I never thought I'd meet someone so willing... Thank you, I'm sure you are aware you'll be staying here in the palace
