Misery is a goddess that was on the verge of conquering an advanced technological planet before it exploded in the orbit of another, larger planet. After recovering from such a setback, Misery dispatched her underlings to wreak havoc whenever they could while gathering information on the planet and searching for the infinity blade, a relic from her realm. Now she has descended upon the planet, landing in the country of Novia to interact with the locals while furthering her plans of world subjugation.
Raizyx is the username of a boy that plays a popular full dive VRMMO video game.Over the course of this game's run, several updates incorporated weapons, items, and abilities from other popular media. Raizyx gets many of his weapons and abilities through these patches much like many other players. He started out his playthrough as a lowly alchemist. Over time, he maxed out the alchemist's skill tree but found that this build still wasn't capable of serious combat. Not long after that, a special, in-game event was taking place. While Thrym was withholding the holy sword Excalibur from the player base, Thor's hammer was placed in a forest as a secondary trigger item. Thor himself would appear to deem any player who could wield the hammer worthy of learning godslayer magic. Raizyx being one of those worthy players to take up the challenge.
During the training, Raizyx learns that Thor isn't a great teacher and they disagree a lot. These disagreements then turn into genuine tension that boiled over around the time that Raizyx created Stormbreaker, a weapon built to surpass Mjolnir. Raizyx battles Thor at the height of their tension but he is defeated and cast out of Thor's domain and cursed to be hunted by the forces of Asgard. This is where he meets Raven. Raven is one of the corvid eyes that Odin uses to watch over the nine realms along with her brother, Crow. She is tasked with hunting down Raizyx, which she does, but every time they meet and fight, she and her brother are defeated by the power of god-slaying magic and the might of Stormbreaker. When they return, they are both punished severely by Odin.
After a lot of beatings and doubt, Raven finally decides to leave Asgard and is badly wounded by the Aesir on her way out. She lands in Midgard only to be found by Raizyx. They form a summoning pact due to dangerous mutual circumstances but this bond later turns to one of companionship. Now Raven joins Raizyx on his quest to explore the outer reaches of the game in hopes of finding a way to beat it. One of these outer lands is a kingdom called Novia. There lives a queen by the name of Noxara. Raizyx uses his alchemist private to get close to the royals for information on the land but it fails. However, he does gain Noxara's favor through some displays of power and some genuine moments of conversation. Little does Raizyx know that his virtual reality has become Noxara's actual reality.
