"We need to be somewhere in 20, where the hell are you?!"

"Calm down, woman, this won't take long, I'll be home before you even know it," I sneered at Yeonha's impatience, I can't even get a cup of morning coffee on my own without having to hear that hell-sent voice of hers.

She hung up and I was forced to finish my coffee quickly, I rushed out of that coffee shop with a frown as I couldn't enjoy and savor my alone time for once. I kept that frown on me while walking over to my car, muttering a load of swear words under my breath.

I was about to open the door to my car but halted when I noticed a woman pass by in front of my car from the corner of my eye. Normally, I wouldn't bat an eye or pay any attention, but something about the person who just walked by made my head turn.

And when I looked at that person, I didn't wonder why my head turned anymore.

"Jiyoung!" I called out, smiling.

I could tell it was her just by looking at the back of her head. She turned around and saw me, reciprocating my smile. I didn't wait for her to walk up to me and did so myself, feeling ecstatic after not seeing her in days. The last time I did, Beomgyu made that unexpected but unsurprising revelation to us.

"Soobin! What are you doing here?"

"I went to get myself coffee but Yeonha's pressuring me to hurry up so I was just about to leave."

"Yeah, it did look like it, speaking of Yeonha, is she still mad at me?" She asked jokingly, pocketing her hands into her coat, her breath visible through the cold, morning, winter air.

"Kind of, but she'll reach out soon, she's just a little grumpy you didn't tell us about you and Beomgyu first, that's all," I answered, mirroring the placement of her hands, it was undeniably cold right now but it was colder when she wasn't here, "What about you? Where are you headed to? Maybe I can take you there."

"Thanks but I'm going back to Seoul, my car's fixed now and in case my client needs me for the project, I'll be there, besides I have no reason to stay here anymore."

"You won't celebrate New Year's here?"

"I just let Christmas pass so I could at least celebrate it with my family and dad... I want to celebrate New Year's too but unfortunately, for me, I don't have a Christmas vacation this year. I was only able to go home here because my client was still searching for the needed materials."

"Oh..." I trailed off, "What about Beomgyu?"

"I didn't tell him. What he knows right now is that I'm at your place, he doesn't always get a hiatus as long as this, he should spend his break with his family and not by sticking to me."

I suppose that's a secret and I can't tell Beomgyu. I'm not too sad about her going back this early, I'll probably see her when Yeonha and I also head back to Seoul but, for some reason, I still felt sad about her leaving.

"I'm happy for you," I said, cracking an awkward smile, "You found your 'the one' again."

"Yes and hopefully I don't have to find him again," Jiyoung laughed, unsuspecting of how I actually feel.

I laughed as well... for her, even though I don't want to. Truthfully, I feel sad for myself but this doesn't mean I'm not happy for her. The only reason I'm not shedding a few tears right now was because of her. I'm happy as long as she is.

All I can say is that I'm glad she's smiling again, and I say smiling because it's been so long since I last saw her really smiling. Seeing her like this made my situation all the less devastating.
